Recommend a watch to a complete newbie?
Hey guys,I'm looking to purchase my first "real" watch, and I was hoping for some advice or a shove in the right direction for those much more informed than myself (I apologize if this is the wrong forum, I did a search and checked the FAQ but couldn't find anything, feel free to move). I'm 22, finishing college in less than 2 weeks, start my first "real" job after the New Year, and I really want to get a nice watch. Basically, I've never really worn a watch, so I don't have that great an idea of what I'm looking for. Things I do know: I would prefer a quartz movement, or similiar in terms of I don't want to have to manually wind it or wear it all the time for an automatic movement to keep the time correct. Water resistant so I don't have to take it off for showering etc. I like very simple designs, no chronograph or anything, and I like the date and sometimes day displays. GMTII quickset date changing at 10-11pm
On my 116710 (purchased new in Dec 2017), if I move the quickset hour hand back and forth a few times between 9 and 11, the date will advance at 10 or 11. If I move it slowly and deliberately one hour at a time, it doesn’t. Anyone else experienced this with a 3186? Should I send it in? No issues otherwise, it keeps near perfect time, and the date changes normally around midnight with the crown screwed down.
