How Not to Wear a Rolex
Okay, so I deal in watches on a part time basis, and I too marvel at a watch that is literally brand-new, in the box, every tag, paper, bit of plastic still on But I often think that if you have such a watch and if you intend to keep it that way- never wear it. Don't even display it. Because no matter how careful you are- a trained eye can tell if its been worn or touched.Its like I tell my dad (a fellow WIS and car enthusiast) when we see a revered car with zero miles on the clock "Sure it's nice, but what are you going to do with it? You can't drive it at this point..." So a person comes in to pick up a new watch. Seemed like a nice enough guy- so, I asked to see his Sub. He took it off his wrist and happily gave it to me. Beautiful Sub, but I honestly felt embarrassed for him. He kept every bit of plastic on it. I mean, not just the case plastic (which I'll admit, I did for the first two weeks I got my GMT Master II) every piece of plastic!It was disgusting! Because if you
