Tissot T033.410.11.053.00 wrist watches news:
We have said this before and will say it again: while?unceasingly impressive from a technical point of view, traditional minute repeater wristwatches?tend to have a soberingly underwhelming sound when operated and experienced personally. This is the?result of thick cases done in precious metals?like gold and platinum, as well as?the ancient layout?and functioning?of this centuries old mechanism.?With?their?2015 concept piece called the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak?Concept Acoustic Research Episode 1, the Le Brassus-based manufacture?strives to join the extremely close circle of high-end watch brands who have set out to improve upon the acoustic performance of this mind-bogglingly complex, and yet in some ways obsolete?complication. The?case design will be familiar to seasoned watch enthusiasts: it is the?Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Concept with its unusual, angular lug structure.?As per the norm, it is this case that?carries the brand's experimental calibers, which pave its way?into uncharte
Say hello to another independent American watch brand. This time from raging New Orleans. Sounds like a place with enough history to support a watch brand. The marque is simply called the New Orleans Watch Company - and the pieces have a distinct feel to them that is both decorative and celebratory - a lot like New Orleans I suppose. The watches don't seem to have model names. What I gather is that each is made to order per the customer's wishes. That equals expensive. The pieces have a very artisan feel to them versus being made in sophisticated CNC machines and alike. Seen in this article are a few versions of the New Orleans Watch - you can see how the parts can be mixed up with various materials. I don't actually know the case size of the pieces either. The cases look like parts from old furniture. Actually a lot of the watches are seemingly made from old furniture. For instance, according to the brand, there is ivory in some of the pieces on the dial - which was recovered from an ol
Editor’s note: The following article/review originally appeared on WUS. It is a hands-on look at a rare watch that we’ve been?interested in some time. Damasko is known for their metals and engineering, but they happen to also be one of the few manufacturers of in-house movements available under $5k. The article was written by Brett of Timeless Luxury Watches, which is a retailer of Damasko. ?This is neither a sponsored post or an advertorial, merely a guest post.Today I get to review two watches, and one movement, that I've been dying to see in person for a very long time. Those watches are the Damasko DK14 and DK15, and the movement is their extraordinarily advanced in house A35, one of two in house movements currently made by Damasko (although they modify others).Everything about these watches is unique to Damasko. The way the cases are made, the way the crown screws down, the gaskets, and of course, the movement. But it's not just another ETA clone manufactured in house.
I believe some things look great in colour or black & white. So if you have 'em, how about a few pics of your beloved Breitlings in B&W?Let me kick it off.....
First time ever, weighing my watches, using da wife's food scale. Here is a head to head comparo: wearing red shoes in one corner, the FC Trulli coming in at a featherweight 108 grams. And standing at the opposite corner wearing shimmering gold shoes, the YG pre-C Sub weighing a super middle weight 178 grams (minus 2 links). I sure hope this scale is accurate.
