Hi Guys,I'm new to the forum. I don't own one, but the Submariner has long been my holy grail of watches. I thought it might be cool to wax poetical and ask you guys to describe what draws you to this watch. Here are my thoughts.The Submariner I¡¯m always curious to get a handle on exactly what draws us to certain objects, like works of art, fine writing instruments, or even watches. Here's a funny,about my Thin O Matic
Hi,I thought I'd share this. I have a newly acquired Thin O Matic I does well.. The funny is about the fact that it doesn't have any date complication Just simple Three hand .sweep second. This is the first watch I've owned in probably 40 years without a Date display function. The night I got the watch in the mail,I was going about setting the correct time.. Naturally it being an older movement,it has no hacking feature,but that wasn't a problem .....I can handle that. Here is the funny....You'll have pay attention,I've already told ya about the watch being a three hand,no date complication. Read . I had a thought while rolling the hands to reach the correct time..and stopped in mid stride. I was thinking about how I was going to be able to tell (without a Date indicator) if the watch was in Am,or PM mode Did ya get the funny yet >> ?????? I actually took at least 3 or 4 sec,thinking about this issue. Then my mental alertness finally caug

Hi everyone, this post is inspired by a post I made on another watch forum that someone titled "What Christmas Gift are you giving to yourself". Let me give a little preface before I tell the story. I've always been a bit of a selfish person and have never really "given" very much as far as other people go. I don't come from a wealthy family but we have always had all we need and most of the time more than we need. I'm not sure what sparked this today but I believe I've had a change of heart (John you can relate to a bit of divine inspiration based on your profile). Anyway, let me also say that there is nothing wrong with giving nice things to yourself or your family. Nothing wrong with that at all. However, this year is going to be a little different for the Flanagan family. Here is my post from the other forum. I thought I'd share it here since this is such a considerate group of watch enthusiasts. The point of this is not self glorification in any way. I just thought maybe it would
