My Simple but Important Lesson
I'll try and keep this simple - between Omega and Rolex.I went window browsing yesterday and put on a Rolex SM to see if I liked the look and feel¡­ I have to say I wasn't impressed with the size of it.. I guess in my mind I was expecting something more grand. They all seemed to be much smaller than I anticipated.While I think the Rolex makes fine timepieces, I felt a bit let down. This has been an important lesson for me and now I can confidently review further into the Speedy Pro 3573.50. The 40mm size of the watch may make the difference. Thought I would share this simple but sometimes overlooked process for us noobies.. - try it on if you can - it may make all the difference.Has anyone else been through this exercise?? Any other tips?Thanks

As the 'passion' grows, so does the collection, its like a cancer, it takes over your body, luckily not killing you, but filling you with happyness.But where to keep all those 'magical' finds? Well surely the valuable ones should be in the safe, but the 'day to day' the 'fun' ones to wear, where to keep them?A drawer? A Shoe box? No not me, my watches how ever humble, deserve to be in places of 'dignity and honour'So! I buy 'vintage' boxes, mainly wooden Georgian boxes from @ 1870 to 1910. These beautuful wooden boxes truly enhance your collection, see below.This is a 1910 oak box with a drawer:This is even older. It is a flight of drawers, about 1890. Each drawer has a tiny lock with a key. It is MAGICAL!!This Drawer holds my 1920/30 Elgin, still in its original box!This lower drawer has my 'watch Strap' collection, and the top one 'a loupe'How cool is that, and the cost. About $150 each

Spring Break 2018 in the gorgeous Appalachian mountains of North Carolina. I think the Datejust II is up for the task! White dial right at home with the beautiful powdered snow in the background.
