I had high expectations of going to this event and in many ways I wasn't disappointed.Unlike Baselworld where new products are announced and launched, the SalonQP in London functions more as an opportunity for the brands to interface with their potential customers in a plush, cosy environment. Surrounded by resplendent grounds and set in an area in a high-end part of London, the Saatchi gallery played host over three days to a crowd of connoisseur watch lovers. Fittingly chosen as a location as well, due to the fact that many of the pieces on display did certainly rise to the level of art. Perrelet Maestro Edition Musical Watches With ¡°The Tower¡± Watch Winder + iPod Speaker System
This is a pretty cool idea from watchmaker Perrelet. I will lay it out for you talking about the key elements that make it so appealing. Deciphering the press release on this nice set up that Perrelet sent me was like deciphering translated ancient Sanskrit. Perrelet needs to spend a bit more time on the communication side of things, but that doesn¡¯t detract from how cool this setup is.Let¡¯s start with The Tower, a system that incorporates two Swisskubik watch winders, and an iPod Nano (8GB) dock with integrated remote plus speakers. The speakers, which are part of the iPod dock is actually a Logitech Pure-Fi Anywhere system (with two internal speakers). The Tower is constructed from lacquered dark wood and brushed aluminum, and looks great with its mix of luxury, style, and tech, along with the speakers under the aluminum grill. The new Heritage Flagship is based on this one. The seller confirmed it was an applied logo even though the pics make it appear painted, and that it has an original unrefinished dial. I was ready to bid up to 670, and had a split screen going where one had my bid ready to go at the last second and I was updating the same listing on the other (a little eBay tip). It shot up in the last 2 minutes as is typical of nice pieces. 007 special edition chronograph?
Hello all, I'm not usually to be found on this side, but I have an Omega related question. My colleague has recently got back from Bahrain and usually wears a Seamaster pro, but I noticed today him wearing a chrono with the 007 logo at the seven hour marker, and 007 on the clasp. I noticed that there doesn't appear to be one of those in the collection on the omega site, is it possible that he has an ersatz one or is it a special edition only available over that part of the world? I've only been able to find pictures of a similar watch on the web being sold in India, so just wondered if it was something for the market outside Europe? I'll be able to ask him more about it when I see him next week, but I'm just impatient!

Explorer 214270 (Newer vs. Old?)
I'm pretty sure I'm going to add an Explorer 214270 to my collection and looking to get peoples thoughts. I love the watch, but I go back and forth as to which version of the reference I want. (The earlier one seems to go for a little less $ pre-owned). I have no plans on selling the watch anytime soon, nor do I view it as an investment, but I'm curious if you guys think the non lume version may one day be sought as a rarer collectable piece? or will it be like some of the transitional references that don't really see a premium?I know I don't have a bad choice here, just curious others thoughts on the matter.Thanks!
