SIHH 2011 is an event I almost did not attend ¡ª but I am glad that I did. The story of my journey to this year¡¯s invite-only International Salon of Haute Horology is however, another story. Questions about Seiko Dive Watches
Greetings from a rank newbie. I was referred over here from one of my usual web haunts, the CandlePower Forum. There's a few watch guys there, and they sent me to you. I'm looking to buy a good, everyday wear, diver's style watch. I've been wearing an older Tag Heuer quartz watch (it was my engagement gift, actually... a 1000 series, purchased in 1998) daily, but I'd rather not expose this piece to the vagaries of day-to-day wear any longer. I'd like a well made watch, but nothing fancy. I'd also like to keep my cost under about $250 U.S.An afternoon of research has led me to lean strongly towards one or another of the Seiko automatic dive watches. My first "good" watch was a Seiko sport model with the Pepsi color scheme, and the Seiko SKX009JP or -KP is of interest. I've also found the slightly more conservatively stiled "007", SKJ007K, and the not-so-subtle orange "Bullet" SKXA55K1, which has really become my favorite appearance-wise. GMT Crown Question
~HiI am noticing something that may be odd about the crown on my Debaufre GMT that I got a couple months ago. First of all, it doesn't always easily pop out to the first (winding) position. Sometimes it is a struggle. Secondly, the date wheel sometimes moves around when the crown pops out after unscrewing. Tonight the date wheel actually moved half-way between numbers just as the crown popped out. Did I get a defective crown, or is all this typical to some extent? This is my first watch with a screw-down crown. I'd appreciate any advice from those who know better then I!

A Christmas Incoming!
Well, what can I say. This one has been calling my name...ever since I flipped it earlier this year. Not the first time I've flipped this model, but definitely the most painful. Anywho...I did a little shuffling around in the collection and my secret (well, maybe not so secret) Santa Patrick made my Christmas dreams come true. And...since I just had the big 6-0 this month, retired from a second career, and it is well...Christmas, I thought, what better time to make this happen?OK. So in my haste to size it, wrap it and put it under the tree, I forgot to take a pic. Sorry guys. I know how we like pics here. But...I did snap this pic of the aftermath.
