Zenith 01.0240.410 wrist watches news:
Hey guys!Last week I picked up TWO very special 1918 WWI Elgin Trench Watches. These two styles are the only ones that have been confirmed to have been bought by the United States Army. One case was made by Joseph Fahys and Company (OreSilver case) and the other case was made by the Illinois Watch Case Company (Nickel case). Both are semi-hermetic cases, meaning that they are threaded cases rather than friction. The Joseph Fahys case truly is an absolutely remarkable example as it still has just about ALL of the required black oxidized finish on the case. (16mm lugs)I have NEVER seen one that has the black finish so full in-tact before, almost unbelievable!Different companies had different ways of achieving the the required black finish, Joseph Fahys and the IWCCo did in fact oxidize the black finish while others used black paint.Nobody has tried to open this Fahys case the wrong way over the years by prying it open, the case threading is perfect. It still has the original factory crown as
GuysAny idea where I can find full spec or review of Maurice Lacroix les classiques chronographe LC1008-SS001-130.A picture of this nice watch can be viewed here:[seiko-specialist.dk][1].jpgOn [mauricelacroix] I found only partial information. For example the hight of the watch is not listed (anyone knows the hight ? )I am also looking for a good on-line source to buy itThanks !
Not sure how reliable is this news... forums.timezone/index.php...=2#msg_7480038Those two newer design looks like smashed-up transformers.
As Omega aficionados, what are your opinions on IWC Flieger Chronos particularly model 3706?I have to say, the movement of the IWC is just amazing. The gold plating, polished surfaces and deep blue screws completely blows-away a Daytona 16520, & Omega Speedmaseter day/date. I know IWC is trying to get a stronger presence in the US. The IWC store is set to open in March. Now that Omega has its own in-house movement (semantics), will there always be a stigma with IWC because they start with an externally manufactured base movement?Does Omega see Rolex to be their only threat?
Just got this as part of a trade...Can anyone tell me anything about it?Its 18KI just opened the back and insideIts 15 Jewels Has an omega symbol with 265 below itTheres a # I assume is the serial # 125602**Leather bands appears newer. Band is size 20 and has 107 on itClasp is a Gold Omega clasp
