Dear all WTF-ers,Azimuth proudly presents our very first Twin Barrel Tourbillon which will be exhibiting in the upcoming BASELWORLD 2009.THE EMOTIONInspired by the most hard core contemporary super cars that only the most well heeled and affluent watch connoisseurs can appreciate, Azimuth ¡°Twin Barrel Tourbillon¡± (TBT) represents a brand new era of ¡°micro-machine making¡±. It is not a watch; we never intended it to be so; it¡¯s a complex modern machinethat draws its inspiration from the sexy silhouettes and raw muscle power of the various marques in the highend market of super cars. Okay, watches are a touchy subject with me right now. :mad:I've just got back from my Tag Heuer AD. Some of you with very long memories may remember I sent it in for a full service in MARCH.it was due back in mid-April (4-6 weeks, fair enough). I waited until June, heard nothing, so paid them a visit (luckily they're only 5 mins walk from where I walk).Apparently they are having problems replacing the crystal (mineral) since the watch is out of stock etc. Not once did they bother to contact me to update me on what was going on which annoyed the heck out of me.Anyway, I remembered that the exact same watch is still currently available as an Auricoste watch - same case, same CRYSTAL, same ETA2824-2 movement, same bracelet, same dial, except for the Tag Heuer logo. You can't get closer than that.I found the contact details for Auricoste in France, and emailed them to the AD. TWICE. Still no reply, so I went into the store, got another email address and emailed it again from home. Still no
Last Thursday I bring 2 pieces in to my watchguy. A 60s Hamilton to have the crystal replaced and a Gruen for a crown repair and cleaning.Yesterday I picked up the Hammy. No problem. I ask him what he thinks on the Gruen job, and he tells me "Hmmm? I'll take a look tomorrow!".........................................................Now, I'm not sure how watch repairmen are taught to think or ply their trade. But when one customer brings in 2 watches at the same time, and one is finished being worked on, shouldn't the other piece have at least been looked at by now? Remember, he's had it for 9 days!!!. And I am a repeat customer (10 or 12 previous watches have been serviced and a good dozen and a half watch bands have been bought).Mr. Watchguy didn't volunteer any explanation for the delay, but an all fairness, I didn't think to ask- I was busy pulling money out of my wallet.Should I cut this guy some slack and not overthink this situation, or consider finding a different repair shop?Thi
Was at Razny in downtown Chicago and this watch is just Gorgeous. Price is just out the ball park. Maybe for my 50th. Just 9 years away.
