Zenith 18.2140.691/02.C498 wrist watches news:
I bet you think it's a watch. As you can see my speedy is on a vinyl record of the actual recording of the first landing on the moon...I got this when I was 10 yrs old just after the landing.....boy am I getting old.....Just was wondering if anyone else has this kind of memorabilia.....
I've never seen one of these Hamiltons before last night: So, of course I had to make the purchase after reading about it on Vintagewatch.info: vintagewatch.info/Detail%...0-%20White.htm The article mentions that this model was only sold with a metal watchband. I was able to find a couple of Palisades by searching the 'net, but none with the original band...until now. The dial is somewhat unusual as well. I've learned from posts here that "aviator" style dials are rare In fact I've not seen one exactly like this. There were three watches made by Hamilton in 1930 that used round dials, the Palisade, Flintridge and Cushion B, and all had production under 2,500. Any further insight on this dial is greatly appreciated. Take care, gatorcpa
Seeing my old baseball mitt got me wondering- has anyone ever treated their better-quality straps with mink oil or any other type of leather preservative?
Like the kid says: INCOMING!Got a text from Windy that she wanted to open the box - which means I got a package. I bet she tried to open her younger brother's and sister's Christmas gifts too. Luckily it remained intact so I could have the fun!Oh yeah, gotta love the anticipation!Better than described. .and skinnier than a runway model.Of course I made an immediate switch from the Breitling to the n00b!
I just thought it might be kind of fun to see what everyone thought the best watch available under $100 is. Rules:1. Currently available new for under $100.2. No bashing of others choices. This isnt the bash (Insert Brand) thread.3. Multiple nominations are allowed if you cant make up your mind.My Nomination:Citizen NY2300 200M Mechanical Diver - $85 Shipped. For: Well built with a reliable Miyota 8203 Movement. Can be handwound. Against: A little small by current standards. Cant be hacked. Finish, especially of the caseback, isnt up to Seiko Standards.
