Latest Project: A Watch Roll
The last thing I had to do to get ready for tomorrow's antique show was to make a watch roll, I didn't want to just pile the leather banded watches in a box, I wanted them protected.....so.......without further ado, my first attempt at a watch roll.........I just thought of some ado, .....I have no place to lay everything out flat, just an ironing board which is not wide enough, and I used a vinyl, rather than a tapestry or some such fabric for the outer piece, so can't use fusible webbing on that , ....no place to set up my sewing machine, so any sewing had to be by hand....and I was pretty much making it up as I went along ......had a general idea of what I was going to do......but like any other project of something you've never made before, .....problems arose ! ...Nooooow here it is the entire inside......( less the still to come fold over flaps of sueded fabric) right now I am using thick flet pieces on top of the watches when I roll it...)and a closer up of how the watches fit i

I got a new toy.
Well, I'm not going fishing today. So I charged up the battery for the new camera! I haven't opened the instruction manual yet so I'm sure the quality will get better by next week as I learn the new funtions. It's still much better than the little touristy Cybershot I had been working with.Second, the details can get so fine I see I'm going to have to shoot twice - once just to find the dirt and the second time after a thorough cleaning (notice the single strand of fuzz on the bezel and the crud around the logo on the safety clasp)I've never quite captured the mother of pearl or texture of this dial, and now I'm getting close. This is the most difficult watch I own to photograph. After I get the strap on it I'll shoot some other pics. I hope they get better.Thanks,Dennis

Movado Bold Titanium
Greetings all! New here to the forum. I just sparked an interest in quality time pieces. I've always had watches, but they were mostly Timex. Not that there's anything wrong with them, I love some of the sophisticated features; but I wanted something more. I wasn't sure what I wanted, or even what brand, but I knew I wanted three things: simple, sporty, and elegant. Enter the Movado bold.Now I have my eye on a Tag Heuer Carrera, but it's quite the step from the Bold. Just thought I'd share, great forum!
