Zenith 03 0520 683 wrist watches news:
When the average person thinks ¡°watchmaker¡±, they picture an older man in a white lab coat working in the mountains of Switzerland. Watch retailer Tourneau is challenging that image with a program that gives disadvantaged kids in New York City a chance at a watchmaking career. Company executives gathered recently to recognize the program¡¯s newest group of graduates.Launched last year, the Tourneau Watchmaker Program was the brainchild of Terry Irby, a soft-spoken watchmaker who manages Tourneau¡¯s service center, which is located in Long Island City in the borough of Queens, New York. Facing an ever-increasing number of watches needing service (currently about 600 per week), Irby needed to expand his staff ¨C not an easy task in the United States, where qualified watchmakers are in high demand.Irby¡¯s idea was simple ¨C partner with the Manhattan Comprehensive Night and Day School, also known as CDI, an institution that helps teens who are no longer in school get back on the right path. Ok, that title is admittedly misleading. No, you can't have a free Nomos watch, but you can make your own Nomos timepiece. In honor of spring, the designers in Glash¨¹tte put together a DIY Sundial for your time telling pleasure. Simply print the PDF on their site, cut out the slot, insert a pencil and orient 12am towards north. The sun will do the rest, and wherever your shadow lies will tell you the time. I have to say, there is something incredibly charming about a brand making DIY Sundials for their fans.Oddly enough, this isn't Nomos' first use of the sun in a timepiece. Their "Sonnenuhr" (yes, that means Sundial) is a small pendant consisting of interlocked rings. Jokingly, Nomos refers to this as "the lowest priced manufactory caliber from Glash¨¹tte". On the outside of the rings is a calendar and on the inside is an index for the time. There is also a single hole passing through to allow sunlight to hit the inside ring. One tells the time seeing where the dot of light strikes the
I wonder effect what everyone thinks the new enamel speedy will have on the speedy pro. With virtually the same styling, a date, and a larger case do you think sales of the pro will drop or will people stay loyal? How does everyone think they compare? I for one like it but am still looking forward to my pro purchase.
Just got off the phone with my favorite AD who received the new Omega price list today. It is not an across the board increase but he gave me a couple of examples:Speedy Pro, 3570.50, up from $3450 to $3700PO, 2210.50, up from $5900 to $6200Effective November 1st.The discontinued 2254.50 SMP is not on the list so no increase there and he currently has 23 in stock.Fr.
