Duesenberg Circular & Rectangular Art Deco Watches
Good thing it is a German speaker (Swiss German) who revived the Duesenberg name! The brand with the same name as the classic car that almost epitomized F. Scott Fitzgerald era art deco cars has two new models that will come out in 2011. The watches are the Duesenberg Rectangular and Duesenberg Circular. Can you guess which is one is each!? The design really does feel as though it hails from the roaring 1920's. Why is it that the past always seem to be have been better than it actually was? I am really fascinated by the "grass is greener in that other era syndrome." Anyhow, let's focus on these upcoming watches from Frenkendorf, Switzerland (they also have a Austrian location).Silly little things like prices aren't known yet, but we do know that the cases will have materials such as 18k red gold, DLC black coated steel, polished steel, and titanium. well, I got my first big laugh of the day ......while perusing vintage watches over on the swamp......I ran across a lovely looking trench watch, with a sterling case ......while nice ...nothing funny there....it was the disclaimer that set me off....."disclaimer: If you are a novice, or unfamiliar with vintage watches, I urge you not to bid on this. Vintage watches are treacherous things & best left to those who like suffering & know what they're getting into. In fact, vintage watch people, like me, are nuts...this sale is AS IS , no returns ...."I love that ......

5524G Thoughts
I¡¯m relatively new to the world of Patek and I think I¡¯m not a typical Patek client... rarely wear suits or shirts with cuffs, more t shirts or sleeves rolled up..I¡¯m normally comfortable in everything diver-like from Rolex..Recently bought a 5167R on a bit of a whim (it sang to me where the steel had not)Am waiting to try on a 5711 but I have a feeling it wont do much for me...The 5524 on the other hand I think is stunning... love the size, dial colour and design and the travel time features.Reminds me of my Pam only 100 times nicer...I was lucky to have had one in my hands on a couple of visits to my AD recently...The one I¡¯ve seen was reserved and so I couldn¡¯t buy it if I¡¯d wanted.. been told. I can have one in about 12-18 months...But it¡¯s way above my previous watch purchase costs and I¡¯m not getting VAT back etc.. so I¡¯m cautious to say the least at spending out on about the value of 6 ceramic subs for 1 PM watch..But I love how it looks and think it would suit my day to day st
