Basil 2011 reflections from an old Omega fan
In a sense, I am disappointed with the Omega introductions and Rolex as well, but on the other hand, I am delighted.First off, My Liquidmetal LE is looking better all the time. I have never had a problem with any of the seven 2500 movements I have owned, including A, B, & C versions, so the larger, thicker 8500 movement is not an attraction for me. And Ti is a deal killer for me. With all the changes to the Planet Ocean, my LM LE will be a one-of-a-kind along with only 1947 others. Thank you Omega for making it a true collectible.Certainly, the new SMP models cannot hold a candle to the classic sword hand models. And who needs any Speedy other than the Professional with the classic Lemania manual wind movement?So bottom line: I am quite happy with my LM, my 2255.80, and my Speedy Pros.Omega's "Rolex" marketing decisions have made me ask "If Omega wants to be like Rolex, why not buy Rolex?" That is why I have recently added two classic discontinued Rolex models to my collect

Can anyone tell me some backround on this vintage Hammy? I saw it today at a shop that does estate sales. Are we allowed to ask for approximations on value here? I don't know very much about the brand besides they were made in Lancaster, and did government issue watches for the military during WW II.Thanks for any info you can share.

...that www.breitlingsource.com 'the complete breitling source' etc etc, have 'borrowed' an image of mine (night lume shot of my superocean) to post on their website showing various brands of watches lumes?Because it's hosted on Flickr (like photobucket) does that automatically make it open season for anyone to help themselves?I would have been more than happy for them to use the image if they had asked me as a courtesy.What are your thoughts?It's in the public arena already, so what's the big deal? Or,Show a bit of consideration and ask the owner.It's not like it's even remotely hard to contact me through Flickr.

16600: 10 Year Retirement Anniversary
CanĄ¯t believe itĄ¯s been 10 years since the SEA-DWELLER 16600 was retired and the DEEP-SEA made its debut.If I remember correctly 16600 was retired with a price of USD $6200 and DSSD debuted at USD $8000.IĄ¯ve been lucky to have my Z series since 2011 after finding it NOS in a tiny AD, and although I love seeing the new releases every year, IĄ¯m happy having this one as my everyday watch. The only Rolex that still hunts me (although not enough to pay todayĄ¯s crazy prices) is the GMT-MASTER II 16710 as itĄ¯s a bit more comfortable and the GMT feature is awesome. To know I couldĄ¯ve bought it BNIB from an AD when I purchased my first Rolex (a DJ) in 2007....Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
