Audemars Piguet 26365OR.OO.D801CR.01 wrist watches news:
For their second watch, Revelation will release a very cool and much more sober piece compared to their first piece called the R01 Tourbillon Manege (that I covered here). This new for 2012 watch is called the Revelation R03 Chronographe RS. Not sure where the R02 watch went - I must have missed that one. The special feature of this watch is a face that goes from totally opaque black to completely transparent. The system is much more simple on the R03 than on the R01 (which applied the same special set of crystals). The latter piece has a crazy motor system while the R03 has a face that is manually adjusted by turning the bezel. Let me try to explain a bit more in case the concept is a bit vague. Think of the system of two crystals as creating a series of shutters - nano shutters. When they are lined up one way the watch face looks totally black. As you turn the bezel the shutters move and the dial gets progressively more transparent, until it is totally clear. This means you can have t
Patek Philippe has had a close, continuous relationship with Tiffany & Co. since 1851. And back in November, Patek Philippe released the limited edition "Tiffany dial" 5396G annual calendar to celebrate the fifth anniversary of their boutique in Tiffany & Co.'s Fifth Avenue flagship (John Mayer goes into more detail on this collaboration here). Tiffany & Co. is the only co-branding Patek still offers, and this week we had a chance to visit the brand's new New York headquarters to see how these special dials are produced - and we even got to stamp one ourselves. 2 OF 8 Stamping The Dial While the 5369G is a limited edition piece exclusive to the Fifth Avenue Patek Philippe boutique in Tiffany & Co., many Pateks purchased at this location can have "Tiffany & Co." added to the dial. On some models the stamp is added as soon as the watches arrive in New York, while on others (often models which don't have an obvious pl
I couldn't think of a catchy name, but I am wearing this one. The strap is new, in tan Morocco, made by a certain collector in the UK. I wish I had one of the original style kakhi straps though.
Let's say you have a dial that needs refinishing, let's say it's a Rodney dial and it is missing a couple of the markers, is that a problem for most common professional refinishers? Will they simply make the necessary markers and put them on for an additional fee?
Do Rolex boxes differ hugely?Model, age etc. Do the more expensive watches come in a fancier 'casket'?It would be nice to see the variationsTucking her up for the night.
