Baume & Mercier M0A10083 wrist watches news:
While we mention Gerald Genta often on HODINKEE, it is rarely for the products produced by his former brand for Bulgari.? That's not to say these "Bulgari by Gerald Genta" pieces aren't interesting, they are - they simply have no affiliation with Genta himself.?Irrespective of that, this new piece is pretty bad-ass.? Constructed in steel and ceramics, the Octo Quadri-Retro Chronograph features a quadrupe retrograde (minutes, date and chronograph hour and minute counter) and a continual jump-hour at 12 o'clock.? With the hour at 12 and the chronograph seconds at 6, the hour is never blocked ensuring great readibility. The dial itself is one of the piece's strong points: Using cloisonn¨¦ technique, it calls for a number of successive stages ¨C including milling the recesses into which the lacquer is applied, varnishing, smoothing the surfaces, refiring the lacquer and polishing ¨C resulting in the creation of a totally unique dial.Add all that to a little bit of Genta octagonal goodness
Greetings1st post here. Love this site, I can't believe it took me so long to find it! Apologies in advance if this has been asked a million times. I want to change the current champagne dial to black on my 16 yr old mid-size DATE model two tone Rolex. I haven't a clue where to go to obtain a new genuine Rolex dial or what I can expect to pay to make the changeover.Could someone provide me with info on this please. Thanks! I look forward to many happy hours of forum browsing and hopefully contributions.BestRandy
Up until a week ago I thought I'd never say those words.Don't get me wrong- I've NOTHING against Orient. It's just that they never had anything that I desired...except for a power reserve indicator.Well, I just took care of that! I found one at a one-day-only sale.First thing I did was switch to leather. I felt it would look better and I didn't want to scratch up the bracelet. Also it was too bloody long and I didn't feel like messing with link removal. No movement shot...the solid case back is torqued down pretty tight! My main reason for mentioning this, though, is I bought it from our sponsor the Discount Watch Store. As mentioned before, it was the daily deal, and the price was so low I had to look twice. 1/100 of a second later I was at their site saying SELL ME ONE NOW!!!Wrong. I couldn't access my pay pal account (the problem was on my end, not theirs) so I got on the phone. The girl who answered was very understanding and efficient. We breezed through the ordering process. That
The local AD suggested that I keep all the packaging for the watches if the time comes to sell them. The reason is that buyers like to have the complete package, OK. Recently I have been buying Casios and these are not like the packaging that mechanicals come with. I've not sold a Casio in all my years of watch wearing so accumulating these boxes seems like more lost shelf space. OTOH, I have a few old Casios from the 80's that if I had the plastic box they came in might make a for a good collectible sale. With the new Casio watches, would you keep the boxes?
Hello all: A friend of mine was asking where the best place would be for him to get his Seamaster Auto serviced. He lives in Ottawa. I assume that there is an Omgea Service Centre in Toronto, but I figured I'd ask here on the forum since many of you may have better opinions as to where he should go for service. Many thanks, Chris
