- I was happy with my watch for about 2 weeks until one day I just happened to look at it and the crystal front was gone now my moving minute and hour arm is exposed to the elements.

Bell and Ross BRS-BLK-CER-PHT wrist watches news:
I've noticed that many in the box type winders hold the watch and an incline. Is this as good as vertical. Is there any data on that. It would seem to not be as good as vertical.
As you know, I bought a Gruen triple date off ebay last week and it wasn't quite the item describe. In the listing, the movement was described as serviced and the condition of the watch "very fine to pristine."I sent it into my watch guy because the date hand didn't work and he sent me this back today:" I also received the Gruen triple date and took it apart for cleaning. I'm actually surprised you weren't having more trouble with it. It appears that both screws for the day and month wheels are stripped and/or the holes in the calendar plate they mount to are stripped. I'm thinking the latter as they do look rather chewed up, but it's hard to say for sure. Two of the other screws in the calendar mech also don't appear quite right to me. In addition, two of the three small screws that hold the calendar plate to the base movement are missing. Those probably won't be too hard to replace with something generic. The day & month wheel screws are a different animal...they are should
I'm a small time antique dealer & buy partial or entire estates a few times a year. I bought a partial in the spring that included a small box of what looked like junk watches. I've always been a sucker for mechanical timepieces and clocks. After a quick look to see if there was anything I recognized I set the box aside to check out later.I finally hit a slow period & remembered that box this morning. Sorting through I found pretty much what I expected....but mixed in with the usual Seiko/Timex/No Name watches was a Wakmann Incabloc. This was the first of these I had seen or heard of so here I am. The watch is in decent cosmetic condition except for the cracked crystal. Although it's only been a few hours it seems to run ok. Chronograph function works, & when it hit 12 the day & date changed. I'm hoping someone can help id the movement & possibly give a guesstimate of value. The number on the back reads 1315 30 74. Does that have anything to do with date
Ebauche (ay-boesh): A movement not completely finished or in the rough; not detailed; a raw movement; a movment made up of two plates, train, barrel and did not include a dial, case or escapement.
How much shorter is the short Diver band, compared to the regular? I'm on the last hole of the standard band, and its snug. The second to last it too loose. Anyone on the smaller wrist size (~6.5) make the switch? TIA...
