Ophion 960 Review
In the world of affordable watches, there's a lot of variation in terms of design and concept, giving us lots of watches to be interested in, talk about and occasionally pursue for purchase. But within those watches, there is little variation in the mechanical movements driving them. Under $1,000 is dominated by Seiko and Miyota these days with the occasional Swiss or Chinese offering. Over $1,000 and you see the Swiss regulars, ETA and Sellita, with the occasional Soprod, and the rare in-house movement. Nothing wrong with any of them, but seeing the same movements over and over can get a bit stale, if only from my perspective as a reviewer.So, when I heard that a new brand called Ophion was using a TechnoTime movement I had never seen before, I was immediately very excited. Based out of Spain, Ophion decided to really do something interesting, manufacturing their watch in Germany, using a Swiss TechnoTime manual wound movement with a 5-day power reserve, and charging a remarkable 1,30

Hamilton Watch Prices
The last few MSRP reports on new watches have blown me away. Hamilton Chornos at $1,600 - $1,700!?!?!?!?!? I can remember not that long ago when they were half of that. I think '08 post Besel is when we will feel it.We need our dollar to rebound in order to even some of this stuff out. I think the Swiss are going to have to develop more markets on their side of the world for I can see this slowing down over here. I will be slowing down for sure.What say you?

Hi everybody,i've got a thinomatic (cal 826) up on blocks at the moment because the micro-rotor has decided to split the scene for somewhere that serves mai-tai's with those funky little umbrellas in them.does anybody have a junker that has a serviceable rotor that they would flip?cheers and thanks in advance. or not if nobody has one :)Sean

Recently had a get together over coffee with a fellow Patek owner. Took a few pictures of his 5131R and 5575G alongside my own 5131R.Quite astounding how different the 5131R's are from each other. Mine is a 2015 model and his a 2016 version so the city rings differ.Aside from the actual words and the huge variation in the cloisonn¨¦ enamel itself there are also quite a few other differences - care to play spot the differences?
