Breitling a4436412/c786-3lt wrist watches news:
Watches In Today's Retail MarketThis topic is really important. And discussing it is going to piss off a lot of people, but I need to get it off my chest. Funny enough, due to a mix-up on our end, this article was published before it was finished, retracted, and then eventually completed. Cries of censorship filled our inbox! Consider this a follow-up to a previous article I penned that discussed Why Watches Are So Expensive. OK, this isn't exactly news to many people, but watches are really expensive. And to be honest with you, they are usually too expensive. Way too expensive - and whether that is good or bad is another topic. This (longish) article is about value, and what the hell happened to it. It actually isn't just about the watch industry and I am not really trying to advocate for change, but rather using the luxury industry perspective to discuss a particular set of observations. The previous article I linked to above discusses all of the reasons watches as luxury goods are ex
In the latest issue of Watch Time magazine an in depth review of the new Seamster 300 and what it promises for the future.Their timing test results were awesome.
I recieved an email today informing me of the death of Gerad Genta . If you are unaware of his contribution to watchmaking , here are some highlights ; Royal Oak for Audemars Piguet, the Nautilus de Patek Philippe, the Ingenieur of IWC and Omega¡¯s Constellation.Mr. Genta own label featured the use of jump hours with retrograde minutes and seconds , retrograde pertetual calanders and chronograph all of which were based on new in-house designs . He was a true pioneer who brought functionality to very original designs . I have had the pleasure of working on many of his pieces and was always impressed by the quality and absolute attention to detail . He will be missed .220px-Gerald_Genta.jpg 120PX-~1.JPG. bulgari_image_1623436.jpg
As promised here is the latest on my Omega TV Dial Seamaster c.1979 21J Auto Cal 1022 project watch.Crystal, crown, datewheel and gaskets were replaced with Omega OEM parts. Deep service. Runs within one or two seconds a day using Emerald Time as my standard. It's actually running more accurate then my Sea Dweller :D
I have now owned my first Rolex, a 114200 Air King, for 10 years. It is probably the closest watch I have to being a daily wear because of it's size and comfort.I decided yesterday to check the accuracy against the NIST atomic clock online. Being that it has a hacking second hand this was easy to do. The results: the watch gained approximately 6 seconds in 24 hours. I was going to reset it but today I head out of the country for 8 days so I am going to leave it alone and re-test when I get home.Does this seem about normal considering the age and it has never been serviced?
