There hasn't been a lot of chatter over here, as far as I could tell, about National Geographic's, James Cameron's and Rolex's involvement in the descent to the bottom of the Mariana Trench this week.Jake's blog did a good job of covering it all, including Cameron's announcement that the specially built Rolex Deep Sea Challenge performed perfectly throughout the mission.

I have a Longines mans watch that I received as a present in 1981. It has a black dial Roman Numerals in GoldThe watch is gold plated and is of octagonal shape (4 long edges 4 short)It has the date at 3 o'clock."Longines" on the dial with winged logo under 12the word "Quartz" above the 6Stainless Steel backBlack leather band, with gold clasp with longines logo It was "lost" in storage for many years, and rediscovered a couple of years ago. Since then I have tried about 3 or 4 jewellers / watch repairers around Australia to no avail.They have cleaned / serviced the watch and replaced the battery, the result, the watch seems to work OK for a couple of days, then the second hand stops, and the watch doesn't keep time. Took the Breitling Plunge
I have been contemplating buying my husband a Breitling for our 25th wedding anniversary. He already has a Rolex Submariner which is a gorgeous watch. He has always wanted a Navitimer, but I do not feel it is practical for him because of the 30 meter water resistance. He definitely needs more. He is tough on a watch and wouldn't think twice about washing his hands and not paying attention to the watch (or even washing dishes, that's why we lasted 25 years ).I took a chance and bought a Chronomat, black, steel/gold, black leather band.I have attached a picture from the website. I gave it to him and HE LOVES IT! He put his Rolex in the drawer and hasn't taken off his new Breitling. I am thrilled that he loves it. Worth every penny!

312 or 321 for first and only PAM?
I've narrowed it down between these two since the 233 out prices these two by quite a bit.Which would you choose?The 312 has cleaner dial and appears to be more popular (for resale if needed to flip), but 321 has PR, GMT, and less production. Tough choice for me, so I wanted to get your opinions.Does the 312 and 321 have the same case?I may trade my 116234 black diamond dial to fund the PAM.Thanks!
