Spring Break in Orlando
Since my son has been on Spring Break from school for the past week, we decided to fly down to Orlando FL to spend a few days with my father. Here's my son reading "Dilbert" while we wait to board our flight:Grabbed a quick shot of our choice of wrist wear for the flight - me in my GMT Master II, and he in his "training Rolex" Invicta 8926:The next morning we made a bee line for the pool!I think I kinda got the camera wet when I took this one....Oh well...since the camera is wet, might as well see how it works underwater!The pool water temperature was perfect!!!Submerged wrist shot of the Submariner:Shot from the bottom of the pool:The next day we did some golfing at a small and less than spectacular (read cheap) course which was a good choice to dust the cobwebs off our game - first round of the year for both John and I:The course had quite a bit of water:After spotting these two big fellas trying to stay warm on this overcast day, we decided not to go after any balls which landed n

1997 Chronomat Ltd Edition (Photos!)
Just bought my first Breitling. Its a used semi-vintagey Chronomat from 1997.Its a Limited Edition issue 969 of 1997 marking the end of the (British) Royal Air Force deployment in Hong Kong (the years 1924 - 1997 are inscribed on the case back).I like the older Chronomats as much as the current Chronomat and Cockpit Chrono, and seeing this Limited Edition at a decent price made the deal perfect.Here are some pics of the front, back and on-the-wrist.

Cushion restoration project
I'm new to collecting vintage Hamiltons.My first purchase was this simple cushion round. I didn't know if I should restore or leave it as is. Reading posts over the last several months, some seem to prefer original dials, others redials.I decided to have this one redialed (International dial). I think it came out well. Let me know what you think.Also, I noticed the serial number (2034790) was less than the lowest listed in Will Roseman's site for a model 986 movement. Does this mean the watch was made before 1921?

SIHH is almost here: What would you like to get from AP?
I kinda stole this idea from another watch forum, but hopefully the guys there wouldn't mind.So, what watches do you like AP to roll out in a few weeks from now?My wishes for the upcoming SIHH:1) RO 15202 in white gold or platinum, on bracelet. Would make an awesome grail piece, although the price may be excessive and unreachable for me in the next 1 or 2 decades :( 2) Titanium Royal Oak with a ceramic bezel, on a rubber strap, preferably in the 37-39mm range. I see 1% chance, it would be too close in many ways to the Offshore range. 3) Same as #2, but in full ceramic, on rubber strap. I see a bit higher chance to see this sometime in the future. 4) A smaller Offshore Diver, somewhere around 37 to 40mm. Just please-please don't market it as a ladies' diver, that would kill it for slim wrist men like me :)) 5) Royal Oak Annual Calendar 6) Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Chronograph, preferably on a bracelet, with steel case as the base model. It would be an awesome choice for guys who'd li

which 5726 AC
so i've seriously been infected with the PP virus and would like to acquire a 5726 to complement my recently acquired 5711 blue. the only question remains is which version of the 5726 to get! would really appreciate some arguments for any of those options... the following is what i'm thinking... 1. grey dial on strap. it would be quite different from 5711 because it's on a strap and i don't own any other strap watches. like the dial color as well. strap may give it a different feel. 2. grey dial on bracelet. my favorite of the 3 independent of all other considerations, but afraid it may be too close to the 5711 as they're both dark dial with bracelet.3. white dial on bracelet. very different from the 5711 and has a super clean feel to it. definitely would fulfill a more sporty role than the 5711.
