Wow Oh Wow !!!! The Elgin Cometh and What's an Eltra ?
As some of you may recall.....I picked up a rather nice looking Elgin on the bay last week .....it was a bit hard to tell as the photos were all taken from the next room ......little tiny watch in a great big photo ! ....but it did look good ......well, it has arrived and I felt sorry for the guy selling it, as I paid 15 for it and 10 shipping and I got the bargain of the month .........ta daaaaaa !!!!and here it is sitting in it's nice and perfect condition clamshell box, the inside says 105 years of Elgin Watches .....1864 to 1969......so I am figuring that the watch was made in 1969 .....doesn't it look cute sitting in it's little box ?the thing that I am hoping someone will know , is what does "eltra" mean ? a clever version of Ultra ? anyway, here's a close up ....this watch is CLEAN ! .....it looks like it was rarely worn ......one of the cleanest watches I have had in my posession ......the back the crystal, the case, the band .....no wear or dirt anywhere ....any little fet

Sun/Moon indicator why not?
I know a moon phase on a watch looks nice and I would love to obtain one in the future.I wouldn't mind seeing a Sun/Moon indicator for day and night. Would be a nice touch on some watches and would be a bit different from the moon phase.

So, I¡¯m having coffee with a friend yesterday, a non WIS, and he inquired about Rolex; there was an add for a Cellini in a magazine on the table. It went something like this:Him: ¡°Isn¡¯t a Cellini a Rolex?¡±Me: ¡°Yes, it is¡±Him: ¡°Then... what¡¯s the difference?¡± Me: ¡°Well, it¡¯s ...
