Omega Seamaster potential first time buyer!
Hi Everyone =)This is my first post on this forum and I’d just like to give you a bit of a background about my watch history.I haven’t really been interested in time pieces but found myself stumbling into jewellers and was surprisingly taken back about the quality of some of the watches out there. Due to this and reading up on watches in forums such as this one, I have decided to take the plunge! =OMy initial thoughts were between the blue Omega Seamaster 300m 41mm and the Tag Heuer Carrera chronograph but after going back and forth I’ve finally decided that the Omega is the one for me! I was originally going to get the quartz version but after seeing the auto, the quartz detracts a bit of quality in my eyes as I see it, I see it as a piece of electrics inside which can be found in any watch(although rookie eyes but on personal preference). Just the thought of spending that much and not going for an auto would be rude =p My decision to choose omega is due to the dealer clearly preferring

Mido Watch
HiI have an old Mido watch which used to belong to my father. It got full of water in the 1970's? the dial was a mess it then sat in a drawer until the mid 90's. When I looked at it I liked the detail on the dial and the luminous numbers, it was a 'military' dial. I got it serviced to make it go again and (some of you may not like this) got the dial refinished, rather naively assuming it would come back as it originally looked. It didn't, see picture 1. I didn't like it, wore it occassionally but otherwise forgot about it. This year I again looked at getting the dial refinished but this time to what I remember it looking like originally, pictures from the internet helped this. After months of searching for someone who could do this i finally sent it to Isreal. I am delighted with the results and now wear it every day, see picture. I've also got a Sackville watch, apparently Helvetia export to America?? Found it in a box with a load of old photos, it's at the watchrepaires at the moment

Sterling silver Waltham from 1918...
Okay, by popular demand...:DI bought this WWI Waltham a month ago off eBay.uk. It came equipped with an ugly little (10mm) vintage bracelet that I immediately replaced with this bund strap from England. The case is 36mm wide excluding the crown. The lion hallmark inside the case signifies sterling silver (0.925 purity), the anchor represents the Birmingham, England assay office, and the "W" in that font indicates the year 1921. Of course, the movement serial number coincides with Waltham's production records for 1918.So, vintage watches often carry special meaning, right? Well, here's the special meaning (by pure happenstance) with this one: The Waltham movement was made in 1918, the year my dad was born. The custom-made English case (by Dennison) was crafted in 1921, the year my mom was born. Is 32500 a good price for a used ROO 44 rg?
Mint condition, but no box or papers. It's been a grail watch for a while now, and I have an opportunity to snag a 2015/16 ROO 44mm RG at 32500. I can also get a brand new, new dial version w/ box and papers for 38500. What do you guys think?
