Who Watches the Watchmen?
With the Watchmen movie around the corner I'm reading the graphic novel again for the umpteenth time and I'm on the chapter about Dr. Manhattan's origin and I thought all you non-comic watch fans might be interested to know that that Blue Guy in the trailer was going to enter the family business of watchmaking until his father made him choose a different path and he became a scientist.Anyhoo...that particular chapter has to do with "time" and I'm curious to see if they devote any screen-time to the time/watchmaking aspect of the book.The chapter ends with a quote from Albert Einstein: "The release of atom power has changed everything except our way of thinking...the solution to this problem lies in the heart of mankind. If only I had known, I should have become a watchmaker."

Need Seamaster Info
I recently discovered the Rolex forum and the members in the Vintage section gave some good info on my Explorer II which is now being serviced. What brings me to the Omega section is that I needed to have a watch to wear while the Rolex is being worked on. I looked in my bureau drawer and discovered my late father-in-law's old Seamaster which had sat there for over 40 years. I wound it and it ran for 4 days when it stopped and refused to run again. My questions are: is the watch worth being repaired, and does it have any collector value? It certainly has sentimental value to me as he was a really nice guy. As you can see from the attached photos the watch has had some use. The crystal and the case both have scratches. The band is a Speidel (are they still in business?). Any information that you can give me would be appreciated. After digging through that drawer again I came up with a Waltham self-winder which I'm sure is older than the Seamaster. Half-Link for Perfect SubC Bracelet Fit?
I found the half-link of the SS SubC bracelet key to centering the long clasp on the bottom of my small wrist. I¡¯ve read that half-links are not standard on the TT and PM SubC bracelets but are, instead, extra cost items that can be ordered from Rolex. If that¡¯s true, then TT and PM SubC bracelets must be shorter (probably) or longer than SS SubC bracelets. For those who have owned either a TT or PM SubC (especially those with small wrists) have you found it more difficult to achieve a good fit than with an SS SubC?
