Question on Tudor dial, no Swiss Made on the dial?
I have a beautiful Tudor 7809 that was just serviced. As part of the cleaning the tech asked me if I wanted the dial refinished and I told him it didn't need it. He agreed it was nice but lacking the "Swiss Made" or "Swiss" on the dial. He wanted to add that and I said no since I didn't want to change it from stock. I talked to the original owner's nephew (the original owner who had it since new in 1953) and I was told there was only one servicing in the late 60's and his uncle was emphatic no changes were made. I am wondering if they put a service dial on then as part of the overhaul. I am in a quandry because I have seen a few watches with Swiss made missing but it seems rare or a repaint. Since the markers on this are raised and even the tiny second hash marks are crisp and perfect. There is also no writing style on the face. it looks like it was done by the factory. I have been bit by the Panerai bugI picked up a 231 back in July and it quickly became my favorite. I have since begun doing some research and have found my next potential conquests. I have been longing to add a GMT to my collection and I have narrowed it down to PAM88 or PAM89! Now to decide on the finish!THE PAM 88orTHE PAM 89I love both models. I know that every so often you'll get a neat little watch, some little thing you found at a yardsale, church rummage sale, or even on Ebay or charity stores (Salvation Army, Goodwill, Savers). And while all these little finds can't have individual threads, I thought it would be a good idea to make one big one where everyone can post a picture or two and see each other's finds. So, what is a 'Junkbox Watch'?I'm terming this phrase myself, and my definition if 'junkbox watch' would be any watch found outside of a store or personal seller who is selling that watch in particular, or any watch that you've discovered in a long-lost box somewhere. Most of the time Junkbox watches are usually found being sold by inexperienced sellers, or being sold way undervalue.

AP Manafacture Visit
Had my date confirmed for visit to AP Manafactute in Le Brassus for end of this month. I should have actually visited last year but could not attend and so had to reschedule. Really looking forward to this I've seen a few reports of people who made the trip and say it is amazing. I'll of course be taking my baby back home to visit the family birthplace
