My watch was late today...
My Omega SMP was late by EXACTLY one hour today It was 12:30, and the watch said it is 11:30...I bought the SMP brand-new from Omega Boutique in Bev. Hills only about a month ago Your thoughts...?

I have 1990 GMT II that came w/a black bezel insert. I like it but wanted the Pepsi version as well. I initially bought an aftermarket one for a few dollars but I it really bothered me that it wasn't authentic. I've learned on this forum that Rolex only exchanges the bezels and normally doesn't sell part even to ADs. The AD that's near me is real nincompoop. When I asked him if he can change the bezel insert he looked at me like woman who has just been informed by a mechanic that her headlight fluid needs changing. Luckily there's a Rolex building in NYC so I went there. On the 5th floor there is a nice waiting room where you tell them what you need, fill out some paperwork and in my case wait 1/2 hour. Than my name is called and I went to a counter where my watch was returned w/a brand new pepsi bezel. All this set me back about 55 beans. The girl noticed that I was wearing my Sub so she said "oh, you're wearing another Rolex, would you like to put it (GMT) away for you?" I said "sur

Sad story, Patek Philippe found and lost?
In 1967 i was a 13 yr old boy and found a watch at the roadside in Bingley Yorkshire UK.It had no strap, it was gold, a little bit beaten up, two small dials at 9 and 3 oclock, and 2 square buttons, one either side of the crown.I knew nothing about watches, certainly had never heard the name Patek Philippe. All i can remember of the watch is that the dial had the name Philip on it, spelling unknown.I cannot for the life of me remember where the watch went to, whether i sold it at school for a few shillings, lost it, had it stolen i cannot remember. All i know is i dont have it now.Could this have been a Patek Philippe chronograph from 1940-1960??

Anyone heard of Graham Watch?
I'm looking at some of the Graham Watches. Has anyone had experience with them? Are they reliable watches?

OK Omega....Let's Talk Contrast
Hey Guys:Omega makes a fine watch. I own 3 and I cherish every one of them.However, as a manufacturer, they seem to overlook the possibilty that the contrast between the hands and the dial just might not work.They got it 100% right with the SMP; the 6 white hands over a matte black dial is pretty awesome.When I made my Mitsukoshi Replica, I was able to source black hands that show well against that premier white dial.Unfortunately, they really missed the boat with their 211 and 3211 series of Panda dial products. It also showed up with the 35th anniversary Apollo 11 watches.The silver hands against a white dial become total camoflage in most lighting conditions. You throw in a pair of eyes that are 40+ years of age, and you better have a minute repeater on your wrist.OK, my rant is over; go back to work; if you buy a watch, make sure that you can actually read the time on it....
