Hello Everyone,This is my first post to this forum, and I did do some searching and read the FAQ, so hopefully this is not a noob post that has been answered previously...With that disclaimer out of the way....here is my question.I have a Speedmaster Automatic, about 8 years old, that needs service. I had to do an emergency car wash on my wife's car with a high-pressure hose, and forgot to take my watch off. (A special thanks to the lazy-a** painter who left that open paint can in the back of his truck!)Anyway, the next day, there was some condensation on the inside of the crystal. Now, about 48 hours later...it appears to be gone, but I figure that I should have the watch checked out. Still keeping time just fine. It hasn't been serviced in about 3 years. That last service was done by Leo Hamel in San Diego, when the watch started picking up time for no reason. 5270 Daily wear?
Hi all,Simple question really. Does anyone know how a watch like a 5270 holds up to daily wear?I'm not talking about scratching the case, more how the movement etc holds up to constant use?I'm looking to buy a GMT BLNR. One of the reasons is from everything I've read and the conversations I've had it seems that these watches can be worn for years, they sound fairly bulletproof. How does something like a 5270 compare to this? It costs more than ten times as much and is from one of the best names out there, but are they too delicate for more than occasional wear? Could you wear it day in day out for a lifetime?I would love to hear your thoughts. J

5712 as your only watch?
I've had several threads about the 5712 and 5164. I think I'm leaning towards the 5712, but to get it now would mean I'd like pair down my collection to just the 5712 at the moment. So...Does it make sense to have the 5712 as your only watch? Currently I have a BLNR and SS Daytona, and while the 5712 is not a PM watch...it does look more dressy to me than my Rolexes. I know it will look great with a suit and when I'm dressed for work...but what about when I'm casual?? Is it a watch that goes with anything? It could just be more history with Rolex but I've been very pleased with how versatile they are...and the PP 5712 just looks more formal to me - hence my concern.Anyone just have a 5712 and/or use it as their daily go-to?Thoughts?

For those of you that have been following my previous thread titled ¡°two have to go! Help me decide¡±. I have made a decision.Out of the four watches I posted, I am keeping just one. The 5513.I have chosen to sell the 16570 (already sold) 14060M (already sold) and 16710 Coke.BUT!Yesterday I added a watch to make it my second. A K serial 16710 Pepsi with SEL AND lug holes. And a beautiful faded bezel and kit.I¡¯m now happy to say that these are my two watches. K serial 167101975 5513 (I plan on selling insert and rivet bracelet in order to source period correct parts)From here I only plan to add after the house Reno¡¯s and wedding is out of the way!
