Need advice on brand watch give status?
Hi. I am very interested in this forum after reading about the quality and different type of watches out there. I might want to get automatic watch for my husband since he has broke like 3 or 4 of the quartz watches already. In the meantime, I would like to ask for some advices regarding which brand of watches will give you the status without the cost of an arm and a leg. I'm helping my sis-in-law who is in Asia seeking for a luxury watch to be somewhat up there with her high end customers/friends. She fell in love with the picture of the Movado rondiro diamond watch going for $1995 but that is well over her budget. Her wrists are small and the budget is $1K. Can she get similar brand name watch for that amount of money with diamond on it and the style doesn't wear out? I told her to get the coach studio round signature etched bangle watch since it looks very nice on any occasion and it's under $400K with the movement made by Movado. How do you feel when you see the occasional good deal on ebay....ebay/itm/Audemars-Pig...vip=true&rt=ncI understand people need to make a living, but I don't like to see the hobby turned into a place to turn a quick profit, especially when no additional value is being added (this gent did not even bother cleaning/wiping the watch). Just my opinion, would hope good deals go to appreciative collectors. What is your take on the subject?
