Invicta 10521 wrist watches news:
Christopher Ward C61 in blueAs an Internet-only brand, Christopher Ward is a good indicator of market trends. They listen to their customers very closely, and even introduce limited-edition models for their fans' forum. They've had "hundreds of requests" for a reduced size version of their C60 Trident model, and are now adding 38mm versions of the Trident. There's also the 'W61' model for women, which differs only in a shorter strap length.I like the smaller-watch trend a lot. I really like 38-40mm sport watches, and these ones from CW look great. If you disagree, the good news is that an increasing number of brands and watches are sold in more than one size: Lum-Tec 300M;?Omega Planet Ocean;?Chanel J12 and others too. Also, Christopher Ward is continuing to make the 42mm size. One effect of the size reduction is that the date window moves closer to the edge of the dial, indicating that the movement is better sized to the case. By way of comparison, here's the C60 at 42mm:Christopher Wa
Last Friday night, at almost 1:00 AM, I was just about to go to bed, when I thought I'd check the 'Elgin' listings on Ebay one last time before bed. One of them caught my eye. It was an uncommon watch, but one I thought I'd seen before. I was pretty sure it was one of the solid gold ones. I checked out the other pictures, and there it was, right underneath the engraving, upside down..."14k Gold Apex" For $49.00. FORTY NINE DOLLARS!!!! I hit the "Buy It Now" button so fast an hard I was afraid I'd break my mouse!THEN I checked through the ads. Sure enough, not only is it solid gold, but also it was pretty much top of the line! $200, when other solid gold watches were $100-150. $2000, adjusted for inflation! For $49.00. FORTY NINE DOLLARS!!!! Then I waited. I was afraid the seller, who had only 39 feedback entries, might look closer at his item and decide that taking the feedback hit would be worth it to save the hundreds of dollars he was giving up.Monday, it listed as 'S
People asked to see some of my Ebels, so here's one to start what will be a series of posts over the next few weeks. But first, a little history. Many know this story, but perhaps many more do not. Ebel is one of those strangely obscure brands; they are loved by many watch enthusiasts, but dismissed by others as being a fashion brand. I suspect the reasons behind the dismissal are two-fold: They are owned by the Movado Group, and they seem to have specialized in ladies watches, most of which have...quartz...movements.Let me say this about that. Yes, they sell quartz watches, and yes, they have during various periods (including now, unfortunately) specialized in ladies watches. But their ladies watches are really just plain spectacular. One reason I get away with having 1.) nice watches, and 2.) a happy marriage is that my wife's watch collection is easily as valuable as mine. But sparkly things float her boat, rather than the mechanical beating heart that floats mine. Her Ebel Brasilia
Hi Everyone, I just wanted to say that I'm a proud owner of my first IWC. I have been a big fan of their watches for over 8 years now, especially the Da Vinci. But ever since I saw the Exupery, I knew I had to have it. About a month ago, I was looking for a watch. And the Exupery crossed my eyes when I surfed the IWC page (i usually don't surf the page cause they are awfully expensive). I called everywhere and everyone told me the 2007 model was impossible to get. Well I found a dealer who said he would call me back and that he expected one. Of course I thought he was blowing smoke up my a$$. But load and behold 3 months later he did, and I made the drive from Toronto Canada down to NYC, well more like New Jersey to pick it up. I love this watch so very much! In the mean time, in those 3 months I added a Rolex Explorer II and an Omega PO to the collection.Picture of the two watches I picked up while we were in NYC this past weekend.- #47 of the Exupery - Power Reserve- for my w
