Invicta 14257 wrist watches news:
I had just been chatting with an AD courtesy of the recently northward-bound Trickster. We had a fairly long telephone conversation ranging from his own business practice to Omega, its' products and the future of the brand. Perhaps it was inevitable that the discussion would turn to the Speedmaster since this is after all, Omega's iconic watch, the one that ranks amongst the all-time greats and a proven world-beater on more than just one occasion as we all know.It was expected too that we would spend a little time on the Fiftieth Anniversary models of the Speedmaster of which there really are not very many. There's the Patch Series of course which a number of our members have, beneath the sapphire crystal of which is featured the seahorse emblem in gold along with the words " 50th Anniversary " and 1957, the year in which the Speedmaster was introduced by Omega.
Hey, I have recently bought a Tissot PR50 on a sale at our local jewelers. It is the PR50 model with roman numerlas and I got it at the price of a decent priced Seiko. I think it is a superb watch for the money although the bracelet could be better as it has folded links instead of solid but what do you expect at the price of a Seiko. What do you guys think of them? All opinions welcome. Heres mine.
I found this in Kuwait. It's a vintage Omega that was a gift from King Hussain Bin Talal of Jordan. No boxes or papers, the guy is asking $500 for it. Can anyone identify the watch or know how much it's worth?vomega.JPG
I like to fiddle with perfection. What if Omega put a rotating bezel on the Speedmaster Pro, somewhat like a diver's bezel, but with a nice clean representation of 60 units, without any 15 minute emphasis as on a diver's bezel. This would allow the user to move the zero of the bezel to the minute hand, and then time two events, perhaps one precision event and another non-precision event.I wonder about this because I have had a chronograph in the past with a tachymeter, and I used the function once or twice to check my automobile spedometer, but otherwise, the tachymeter bezel has no use for me.On the other hand, I fly an EMS helicopter for a living, and I sometimes have two events to time, neither of them really requiring split second precision; but, with a rotating 60 unit bezel, I could time both of them easily by rotating the bezel to the minute hand for one event, and using the chronograph function for the other event.I really don't expect Omega to change the Speedmaster bezel.I just
The last few months I've been feeling a huge void after letting go my two beloved PAM's. So the thirst to get back in the fold is insatiable and after a quick trip to the AD, here is my new PAM. It's just a lowly 024 (and my first Sub) so there's nothing to write home about. But boy oh boy, do I love it. I also picked up this assolutamente strap...
