Maurice Lacroix MP6358-PG101-71E wrist watches news:
As watch-industry followers are surely aware by now, this fall will mark the sixth edition of Only Watch, a charity auction of unique timepieces whose proceeds benefit the Monaco Association against Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. We’ve already shown you Tudor’s contribution to the biennial event; here are 10 more from 10 other participating watch brands.Blancpain has created a new version of its Traditional Chinese Calendar, with a 45-mm-diameter rose-gold case and a black grand feu enamel dial. The watch, which contains a Blancpain manufacture movement, combines aspects of both the Gregorian calendar and Chinese calendar; the latter includes leap months, signs of the Zodiac, symbols for the five elements and 10 celestial stems, and the 12 Zodiac animals that represent a 60-year cycle that is central to Chinese culture (for more detail on this ultra-complicated calendar watch, click here). Blancpain’s patented under-lug correctors are used to adjust all the indications.
Bell & Ross recently announced its position as one of the main sponsors of the Smokewings Aerobatic Team, the only civilian aerial acrobatic display team in Portugal. Founded in 2007 by two Portuguese Airline pilots, Jorge Fachadas and Marco Rodrigues, the team's goal is to promote public interest in these exciting events held throughout Europe.
I just received my Seiko Ananta Double Retrograde with black dial. I haven't had a chance to take pictures yet (or resize the bracelet or even set the time). Overall, the watch is nicer than I expected. The case is very impressive and the finish is wonderful. The markers on the dial are also beautifully done. The dial itself is nice, but nothing exceptional. The seconds hand is very nice, but the minutes and hours hands are my least-favorite part of the watch; fully polished and highly-reflective - not a fan of that on hands - GS hands are much more impressive and visible. The crown is ok, but unsigned. The bracelet is quite nice, but mine has a strange defect that looks like a manufacturing problem. If I examine carefully the polished sides of the links (the sides where the pin holes are located), I can see faint circles in the middle of those sides. There's one circle on each side of each link, and this shows up on all the links - quite weird. The movement looks nice, but small on suc
In the hope that I might be able to take advantage once more of the wealth of collective knowledge that is the forum...I'm trying to convince myself that I should buy a Navitimer 7806-S. Well, that's what I think it is after doing a fair bit of research here and on a couple of other recommended forums...It seems to be in nice condition, the lume looks very dark though. There is evidence of surface scratching to the case and acrylic - but it is nearly 40 years old. I gather these were only made from '72 to 74 (or thereabouts). My own research of the serial number dates this to '73 - the year I was born...So, should I?! Does this one look nice enough? I'm no collector - this is purely something for me. Any of you chaps able to give me a rough idea of value? Just so that I don't pay completely over the odds...
I purchased a new Submariner in early December of 2011. It is my everyday watch. Since that time it has quit running on 4 different occasions. After the first time I simply reset the time and it worked fine for several weeks. After it quit the second time I notified the store where I purchased it. Since I was in Arizona at the time they gave me the name of another store (within their chain) that I could take it. The watchmaker kept it for about a week and it worked perfectly. He said he could send it to the factory or I could take it and see if it happens again. It stopped again and I'm just waiting to get home so I can return to the place of purchase. My questions are, has anyone experienced this problem and since it is virtualy new is there some type of lemon law?
