- I really like this watch. The only blem I have is with switching the bands. It looked easy in the demonstration but I have a hard time with it. I have the gold tone and you can see the hummingbird clearly.

Green gold filled Square B engraved today.
Once a chronometer-certified movement has been installed in a case it will probably perform differently than it did during COSC testing. One reason is the infinite angles it will be subject to while being worn as compared to the 5 stationary positions during certification. Some typical real-world situations your watch will see are: 5H / 60˚ angle: driving, reading the paper3H / 10˚ angle: typing (this is close to dial up or CH)8H near vertical: standing with hands at your side7H near vertical: standing with hands in pockets4H / 80˚ angle: elbow on desk, head resting in hand or on knuckles6H / 70˚ angle: sitting at desk hands foldedFor example, 5H means the 5 o'clock part of the dial is the highest point on your watch. 60˚ is the angle the watch rises from horizontal or the dial up CH position so 11 would be the lowest point. Naturally there are many more possible positions your watch can be in during the course of a day. Another thing to consider is that t

I received this watch about 10 years ago from my dad . . . he told me that they where only made for 2 years . . . I put the watch in a drawer until a few months ago . . . I called my big friend 'the watchmaker' if I could visit him and bring a watch to get back into shape ;-)He inspected the watch and said . . . no problem . . I wasn't expecting anything else ;-)So he found a new glass since it was cracked (I received it that way . . . thanks Dad ;-)Today he called me that it was finished so I jumped into my car and was really curious to see my first overhauled or restored watch.I am amazed what he did . . . new glass . . . a little bit of polishing . . . and a big service . . .There it was my new Ranchero . . . If you want to read some more about it here is an article from Honkidee .hodinkee/2008/10/22/1...-it-watch.htmlHere are some pics of the Ranchero (the first one was how she left . . . )Great patina . . . . I love it !Next step will be a new nice tan leather strap . . . lizard
So I've put my name down on the list for a 5711. Who knows how long that will take. Anyways, in the meantime I think ill buy either the 44 Ti ROO or the 44 RG. Not totally decided on which yet. Anyways my question is, one of my other loves in the watch world is Grand Seiko. I have owned 7 of them at various stages and currently have 3. How do you all compare Grand Seiko to PP? I know they are pretty different, just wondering what that translates to in the flesh. Also, side note, spring drive is incredible and has spoiled me completely on mechanical movements from an accuracy perspective. A few pics of my faves.
