Montblanc 107113 wrist watches news:
I have been an Omega guy for a long time, and never really appreciated Rolex watches considering they were always beyond my means.Yesterday, we were at an antiques show, and saw a Rolex Explorer. Just the standard model, not the II.I was quite taken with it's simple elegant design, and it felt good on my wrist. It was the newer 39mm model with the 3132 caliber. A used watch. My wife saw the look on my face, and offered to buy me a new one for Christmas. ( Yes, she's a keeper, and has been so for over 30 years).I completely understand and accept that buying through an AD is preferable, and not a heck of a lot more than otherwise. However, tax on such a purchase is significant. I would like to know if there is an AD who will deal on the price, maybe from another state where it could be shipped to me without paying sales tax? Or, at least discount enough to cover the tax.I know, it's verboten to a lot of dealers, but I have made deals for Omegas in the past up to 30% off and no sales tax
I'm wanting to know more about this watch I got in case I need to sell it or something, plus I just want to know!I bought this a while ago with a Bulova and others (There's a thread in the Bulova watch forum). All I could find out was the movement was made in the 1950's, and that seems correct with the style of this watch. It's in good condition, it needs a good (serious!) cleaning (It's starting to turn from gold green) and such but otherwise it winds and runs, and looks pretty cleans inside. The GF is in good shape, a few tiny wear spots in one or two places but nothing bad.Anyway, lots of pictures ahoy! Thank you for your time, happy watch hunting
I am curious as to which watch you guys would go for, given that price restriction? I came up with $6k because it seems like a Rolex Explorer II in very good condition can be easily had for that- maybe closer to $5k in a lot of places. I think of that watch as a modern benchmark- in my unlearned opinion, at any rate- for a good GMT watch.I think that the watches I'd consider would be the Explorer II, the SMP GMT, the Speedmaster GMT, the Sinn U2, and the Alt-1Z, naturally. Of the above, I'd like the Bremont for graceful execution and sheer X-factor purposes (although I don't think it's the best as far as readability), or the Sinn because it appears to be simple and built hell-for-stout. The Sinn is also the cheapest! What am I leaving out here? A pre-loved Panerai? A Glycine Airman? What are your thoughts? I am basically just past the novice-phase of watch enthusiasm, so I am confronted with the fact that in some cases, I don't know what I don't know.
Hi guysI have recently sold most of my watches and have been left with a Rolex Sea Dweller 116600, a TAG Microtimer (kept for sentimental reasons) and a G-Shock Riseman Black.I wear the SD for almost everything and it is already showing some signs of wear; I'm quite happy to have a few knocks and bumps, after all, some of the appeal of Rolex Sports watches is that unlike other premium watches, they look better with a few battle scars. The TAG gets worn once in a blue moon just because I think it should now and again.I wear the G-Shock for really heavy duty stuff and sports.I wanted to add a watch that could be worn (a) when an understated classic is required and a Rolex may be a bit bling and (b) when there is a chance it will get lost, stolen or severely damaged (i.e. when drinking, holidaying, and hunting). The Speedy is a classic in my opinion and whilst the Speedy Reduced is not very popular amongst the WIS community as it's not the Moonwatch, it fits my wrist perfectly and ticks al
Why doesn't Rolex make an all red sub? I'm talking red bezel with red dial?We all know the iconic black sub, but we also have green, blue, half red bezels, half blue bezels...so why not red? And would you buy if they did do it?And while we're on the topic of subs that we haven't seen, why not a Rose Gold sub?
