New Seiko 5 Sports from Japan
Seiko has been my favorite brand of watch since I received a 17-jewel DX model for high school graduation. I am always looking for different movements and designs to add to my Seiko family and this time my search led to Tokyo and SeiyaJapan. By the way, Express Mail International service through Japan Post and USPS delivered the watch from Tokyo to Sioux Falls in 3 days with the help of the international date line.Meet the Seiko 5 Sports model SARZ003.Stainless steel case and bracelet in polished and brushed finishes.Exhibition case back to showcase the 24-jewel 4R36 made in Japan hand winding and hacking movement.Case diameter is 41mm and thickness is 11.5mm. Starting the year properly
2010 was a good year for me, I cycled through many watches, some lasting weeks, others with permanent places in my collection. Some of my favorite additions include a vintage Stowa Chrono, Lum-Tec's M21, and Seiko's SARB035. While these are all great watches, I found myself wanting to take a step up and focus on higher quality watches in 2011 rather than quantity. To this end, I promptly made 2 acquisitions to open my year. First up, an early 90's serial Rolex Submariner 14060This pick up was totally out of character for me. Well , I must say that I am pleased with the SD4K wearability... For one , it’s keeping excellent time ... Two, it’s pretty comfy with the divers extension removed...Three, I LOVE THAT I DON’T HAVE TO WIPE OFF THEFINGERPRINTS EVERY DAY CAUSE YOU CAN’T SEE THEM!!! I still love my Bluesy but everyday or every other day you can see the fingerprints !!!! Where it made contact with skin or something that cause the Gold pcl’s on the bracelet or The glidelock clasp to be dirty and lose its luster and I’m OCD!!! Ok rant over ... How long has it been since it took a nice soapy bath ???
