I was on a bit of a binge lately buying anything I could find and I made some dumb purchases. I hope to redeem myself with the most significant watch in my collection. I am very proud to have found this watch on my own. Barry (bazzab) let me know it was a nice find and watched me win it! (Thank you Barry).I hope you all love and appreciate how special everything about this watch is.I will let the pictures do the talking now:Adam I hope you're proud of me for following in your footsteps! Its hard to see but there is a beautiful velvet box:What could be more rare than a vintage watch box you ask??? Well this is the most rare piece of paper I own it means more to me than my car title and house note.Americans used to be so proud of their production. I long for those days to come back. Here she is. The pride and joy of my collection!14k GF rose gold. Original dial and original hands in 100% perfect condition. Case is untouched and amazing. On one lug there is a small bit of black but that is

I thought long and hard and did a lot of research before choosing this piece, which for me probably best represents Panarai's great history. I also much prefer the Radiomir case to the Luminor, even if it isn't as iconic today. It's a really comfortable watch to wear, fits me well for a 45mm, and I'm really enjoying the change of pace which a two hander offers. It's a 2009 model and I don't know much about its history, but it's in excellent shape and looks solid on my Timegrapher (+6 s/d, nice even lines), so very happy with this purchase. I did think about the more modern 610, but wanted a sandwich dial, and the ease of servicing (and better looks in my opinion) of the ETA/Unitas 6497 movement over the in-house version appealed to me. I also enjoy winding my watches so an eight day power reserve on the newer watch is actually a drawback for me!I've already bought a couple of (cheap) straps ... now considering at least one good quality hand made one.
Hi all... Newbie is finally in touch with a recommended dealer at reasonable pricesAs if narrowing down the options of all the different references wasn't enough - I've now got to decide on the intricacies within the individual references so I'm asking for help....Sandwich or painted??The 177 is g series paintedThe 176 is sandwich (not sure which year)I'm of the understanding both are discontinued as of 2014 to make way for the in-house movements and bigger cases to come...Is it true the base (176) is more sought after? Is the base look with sandwich more of the original panerai style? Is it true the painted g 177 is also special as then they went sandwich after this? Its a first Pam purchase... There is a ¡ê500 differential... Which way would you go??Thanks so much for taking the time
