Omega 123.20.24.60.55.008 wrist watches news:
Hey guys!(This is one of the eight good ones out of that lot of fourty that I bought)I was working on this Illinois Watch Case Company "Spartan" cushion today that has a VERY cool crown. Still working on trying to smooth out the back side of the lugs, it's coming along. The design pattern is different on the bezel from the sides of the case but this is correct. The Roman numerals underneath the bezel match the case back serial number. I've seen a few of this type of case before but this crown is not the original factory crown, it's way too nice to be from the IWCC. Looks like it's some kind of flower. I vaguely remember that possibly Patek had crowns like this way back in the day? I've only seen a couple of these type of crowns over the years and I always wondered who made them. Anybody know?
I bought this in a bag of other junk watches (Honestly, I bought the bag just for this one )I think it's an older auto, maybe 80's? Big watch, heavy to! It's about 4 and 1/2 CM by 1 3/4 CM (relatively)It's worn, but not overly abused from what I can see. Dirty though, need a good cleaning! The black bezel reminds me of a Rolex design too.The black rubber band is an original Seiko, to!It seems to be running well. I can't get the back off because I don't have the proper tool.I don't know anything about old Seikos, i spent 5$ on the bag so I hope i can recoup my investment atleast :-Dthe dial says:SeikoAutomaticWater 150m ResistJapan6105 - 8009TPicture time!Edit:Ok, maybe 'vintage' Seiko is a little much, let's just say an older Seiko :s
You've surely noticed that some things just seem to go together, even if they aren't from the same era. Here are two of mine: my 1980s Swiss Rolex no-date Submariner, and my much earlier Exakta left-handed (the designer was, so the film winding lever is on the left) 35mm Dresden-made camera. What are yours?
Tried to do a search on this subject but couldn't find it. I'm actually curious about all Diver variations.Anyone know the answer? Need to enrich my knowledge of APs.
All things being equal and if timing/announcement were the same... which watch would have greater demand and harder to get (with long wait lists)Daytona SS Ceramic (white) OR GMT Master II SS Pepsi Ceramic?
