Skagen's Flagship Swiss Movement Men's Watch Line For 2009
I was curious as to what Skagen considered to be their flagship watch, so I asked them. The Danish brand has seemingly always been around in the watch world. Brands tend to have iconic looks and technologies that are imbued into flagship products that communicate the brand. Skagen's entire watch product line has a few common themes. I had the pleasure of getting brunch with the founders a couple of months ago, and I found their approach both honest and compelling. They’re not setting out to change the world one watch at a time, they’re not trying to convince you that other watches are inferior¡­they simply want to make good watches with great style at approachable prices. They also didn't jump in headfirst, hastily making something to get their brand out there. No, they've been careful and cautious, making sure that their watches, the components and the story all work.One particularly important element of their story is that the watches are all assembled in their offices in Chicago. The components, which are largely Asian made, come in, are inspected and put together by trained watch makers locally to ensure quality control. Art Deco 1930's Bulova Mens Watch. Need some info and Help!
Hello everyone!I haven't been posting much thanks to some real-life stuff and blah, blah BLAH.Anyway, I would like some help with this one! I recently got a great art-deco Bulova watch at an auction for what I think is a STEAL, but I'm not too sure.It looks to have an old metal band on it, but the problem is I can't get to the movement, the crown and stem are behind the case, so I'll need to pull the crown off but I'm not sure how.It does work, but it's a bit sluggish.I don't even know if it's solid gold or not, i doubt it is. I see some pitting on the back, but the front looks to be in great shape.The crystal is pretty cloudy, which is a bit odd.Anyway, here's some pics. Let me know if you know the model name, some info and maybe a price!

Hi guys - A while back I was lucky enough to reserve a Date Sub for July when i visit my family in Barcelona (I'm an Australian) at one of the ADs.I gave them my passport details a while back and now they have confirmed that they have acquired one in time for my trip but I need to give them a 2,000 euro deposit.They say that the retail price of 7,850 euros is non-negotiable and that they could assist in organising a 15.7% discount resulting in a price of 6,618 euros (very reasonable imo). Does anybody have any experience in negotiating further at one of these spanish ADs or should I be grateful that this has been set up and take the good price as it is.Also is there anything I need to do re bringing the watch back to Aus around GST etc?Thanks in advance - I am fairly new to international purchases and always bought in Australia but after reading some of the forums here I thought I would give it a crack overseas too.Appreciate it!
