I know Seiko gets a lot of praise and is regarded as a solid watch maker, but any words of praise for their brethren, Pulsar?
Ended up with this one sort of by accident, but I'm starting to dig it.It came with an ill-fitting bund-style strap that I didn't like at all, so I left it on top of the gas pump on the way home yesterday Here it is with a strap I just made:40mm bead-blasted case20mm strapETA 2824After wearing the Megalodon pretty much exclusively for the last couple of months, this feels like there's nothing on my wrist!
Before starting my post, I was hesitated which forum to post it on, but I decided here because most members here have experienced all or some of the watches that I am going to talk about. Three watches I absolutely adore, I wish funds allow me to add them all in the future. But for now I could only think and plan for one. I am not a fan of yellow metals hence the choices here. The watches have almost nothing in common. The only reason to have them in the same post is the price. All of them very close in price (60k USD range +\- couple of thousands)3 famous brands, for me represent the top of Watch making today (if we exclude the independent small players). Daytona in general is my favorite watch if I have to select only one watch. I like very much the heft, the ice blue hue is unique. Being platinum which I cu
I set my goal on acquiring a Nautilus chrono 5980 as my one-and-only everyday watch. I'm several months from reaching my goal, so I have some time to change my mind.I may have changed my mind.I was admiring the 3940 that Stuxnet recently added to their collection. I remember it was this very model that turned my head and opened the door to watches beyond Casio. It was 1982, and I was 15 years young.I was surprised to see the 3940 may be obtained for about the same cost as a 5980. The very watch that epitomizes haute horology for my 30-year disease, err, obsession! Now I'm conflicted. Do I stick to plan A (5980), or work to obtain my idea of the ultimate representation of my long-lived dream? The 3940 hardly seems suited for a T-shirt-and-shorts-at-Disneyland kind of watch. The easy solution is get both but it's not a realistic one for me.Can anyone offer some advice?
