Hey guys!I've been crazy busy lately finishing my book, getting married, moving and working on watches so I have not been posting much.Right now I'm Back in Black! What About Walthams ?????
It seems to me that I don't read much about Waltham wristwatches very much around here, or anywhere for that matter .....but for some reason, I am under the impression that it was quite a good brand of watches in the heyday of American watches ........Does anyone here collect Walthams or stumble across some interesting ones now and then ......what about the movements they used ? good ones ? Was it an innovative company ? How are they thought of as far as quality goes ? ........I would post a photo or two of a couple of mine, however photobucket is working on their site and my photos are unavailable for now ......

Does the caliber 23-300 has overwind protection?
The 23-300 is obviously a manual wind caliber and on my 2593 the crown is so small and also a bit recessed in the case that is is quite hard to wind. Hence I usually only wind it a few turns just to keep it running. A few times I have tried to wind it fully though but I always have to stop as my fingers get numb (it also takes quite a force to wind). I have wound it as much as it should be fully wound comparing to other calibers but the spring does not tighten. Does the 23-300 have an overwind protection that makes the mainspring slip in the barrel like automatic movements have?

where to buy a new Patek? Paris - Geneva - London - Wempe
Hi,im new here in the Forum, but not so new with Patek. MY first Patek i bought on the Bond Street, it was a 5167A-001 after that i bought a second one in London, also Patek Boutique on the Bond Street 5711/1A-010This year i was in Paris and i bought the 5164A-001Some nice pics you will find here instagram/ve3rstand/now i want to buy a 5980R or the 5980/1Ai told paris an london to put me on the waiting list for the 5990 :)i have the prices here from the PP Boutique in London and also Paris.London is too expensive, the GBP is too high, compared to the EURO, so i have a price difference from 5k EURO for the 5980Rdoes anyone have a price list from Patek in Geneva?What about Wempe for example? I called yesterday Wempe in Vienna, but it was late, they told me, they will call me back on monday and tell me what nautilus models they have on stock.Many thanks, and have a nice rest sunday.
