Panerai PAM 00113 wrist watches news:
Got the 3 watches from last Sunday ready to go ....I took the Accutron to my California watch guy, and he popped a new battery in , and off she went ! The case of the 23 jewel Bulova cleaned up well, and it runs more than 24 hour after 1 full minute shaking ......And the Hamilton looks good, I even had this vintage Hamilton band to go with it !So there's the lot ....I am pleased with the outcome of this little deal .....and while I will miss my knotted lugs watch....well, there'll be more watches to come .....
I bought my first Hamilton of the year before noon PST today. I will post photos when it arrives. Please post your January 2011 arrivals here.
Hey all, So I just put down money on a vintage 1950's Oysterdate Rolex with cyclops. I have long been a major watch fanatic and collector but this is my first luxury watch, with all the rest only being in the $250-$500 range. Though I LOVE watches and constantly research and try to learn as much as I can about them, I'm still just a beginner and would love some advice, feedback, opinions if its real, etc. I bought it from a small watch shop here in the city that I live in. They were asking $1,500.00 for the piece, which I put $200 down and plan to have fully paid off by my 30th Birthday next month. I guess I'm just paranoid a bit and want to make sure it's a real rolex and a good value and I'm getting my monies worth. I only make about $40k a year, so I'm no high roller or anything about $1,500.00 is a lot of money to me. Thanks guys, and hope to hear some feedback soon!
Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed every now and then, a 'new' member pops up, posts maybe one or two threads with subjects like "what's this watch" or "Just got this today" and then adds a pic, with a description of the watch cut & pasted out of a watch seller's website? Is this a bit of subtle advertising? I can't see the point as we don't actually know where exactly to go to buy it so I can't see any benefit to the poster. Unless they sell that type of watch and are just trying to generate interest in it. Seems a very long shot to try to sell something.Maybe after reading all of this, I've just answered my own question.I must just be paranoid
I have a majorly scuffed up 44mm. Thinking of getting it refinished by AP when I send get my service while still under the original warranty. There are no gashes in it, thinking of a light refinish. You cant see it while its on my wrist at all really (see photo) but when you look closely, at the right angle you can see it. I see it, I know it's there, and it drives me CRAZY..what would you do? thoughts are appreciated!
