Interesting news today as Porsche Design and Eterna have announced that they have terminated their watch making relationship. For years Porsche Design (designed) watches were produced by the Swiss watch maker Eterna, located in Grenchen, Switzerland. As of March 10th, 2014, the two companies have announced the termination of their license agreement to develop, produce, and sell Porsche Design branded timepieces.Sadly, I did see this coming. Porsche Design has aligned itself with some interesting watch companies over the years including, most notably, IWC. Their run with Eterna helped them to produce some of the highest quality, most interesting Porsche Design watches since the company's beginning in 1972. It seemed like Eterna was an excellent and long lasting partner. Eterna had its own problems though, and while very interesting, Eterna brand timepieces were not doing as well as they could have been.In a sense, Eterna watches were plagued by being too focused on interesting movements
Hi everyone, I just want to work out some pre purchase jitters here from an Omega newbie. So the watch I'm looking at is a 1959 Seamaster caliber 591, model number 14704. It has some dings and some patina on the face, but is in overall good working order and keeps time well. It has recently been cleaned and lubricated with a new o ring installed. The genetman is asking $350 for the watch. I know it's difficult without looking at great photos, but I did attach 1. So as a ball park is this reasonable? Expensive? Good deal?Attachment 37226Thanks in advance for your thoughts. I'm just a nervous newbie who thought he'd ask the experts.
What is your BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK watch? My latest one that just de-throned my beloved Lum-Tec M27 GMT (shown above), it is called DEEP BLUE DayNight PRO T100.Some of you probably saw it in some recent "Daily Wrist Shot" threads, but I am so thrilled with this watch that I wanted to introduce it in more detail:Larger resolution:http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/e.../D7C_3632e.jpghttp://i229.photobucket.com/albums/e...D7C_3611e1.jpghttp://i229.photobucket.com/albums/e.../D7C_3680e.jpgThis is what $514 (or $424) gets you:This new T100 flat tubes version was just formally introduced live last week on ShopNBC.It comes in black, cobalt blue or orange. PVD version is also available. The MSRP is $605but you can get it for $514 after the 15% off with first time online buyer coupon.I was lucky to get it only for $424 (15% off a special $499 price that they had up for a few hours during thefirst day of introduction). Needless to say, it is still a tremendous bargain at $514.Normally, I do not
