How we see time influences how we communicate and perceive time. Time for some people is waiting for hands on a dial to move into position, while for others it is carefully watching seconds precisely count away on a digital display. When I was growing up the terms "analog" and "digital" only had reference to clock and watch faces. It was not until I was a bit older did I realize those words had meaning not related to telling the time.If someone were to ask you what time it was and the analog dial above represented the picture on your watch, what would say? You could say it is just after noon, or half past 12. You might say that it is 12:30, or 'about' 12:30. Or you might not say anything at all and just show them your watch face for them to read in their own way. It fascinates me how reading the time comes in so many flavors. Ok - so I went in to my AD here in Perth Australia to look at and try the Platinum and SS Yacht Master - I have a Sub and want to add another Rolex to my collection soon - I HAVE THE BUG!!! I was pretty sure it was going to be the YM .....BUT then strangely I was drawn to the Milgauss -the black dial then the white.so I spent some time putting on the YM then Milgauss - then both - then again and again and you get the picture - I have to say I had to leave confused! So - I have rightly given myself time to sit with this new thought and am now thinking that the Milgauss may be the next Rolex. I have really enjoyed reading through the stuff on this forum - it must be said your passion for watches and Rolex is infectious - so I wanted to ask you: what are your thoughts and experiences of this watch?? The YM is still there in my heart - very much so - but that may be in the future - CheersDalip

Elgin ww find - advice/thoughts?
Hello - My first post herehope I do things right. Just the other day found a 1929 Elgin from a local shop here in Poland for almost nothing. Do you think it's original as is? And would it be a crime to refinish (probably...). Don't see any hint of brassing anywhere - should the engraving be enameled? Title says most of it. My great friend Greg sent me some pieces that he got for me from the meet with Ben, Stan, and Jesse. I was lucky enough to be the benefactor of one of my most coveted and adored watches, and a special little piece that I have never seen before. This marks my 11th Gruen watch and they're all special and unique, but this is probably more collectable than any of my other collection. A rose gold Day Nite??? Are you kidding me? Seiko kinetics and Citizen Eco-Dirves 40 years
Hi,I read somewhere in internet (I cannot find the page from I got this information from) that both Seiko (kinetics) and Citizen (eco-drives) are been tested to last working continuously for 40 years and even by then the internal battery still getting charges up to 80% of its initial capacity. Furthermore I've read that the only thing that prevent the watch from working continuously for another 40 years is due the internal oils needed for some parts lubrication don¡¯t last that long.Can that be true?
