The Grail as a Beater
I was out working today with one of my 'safe' but cool 'beaters' - my sweet quartz Seiko. It looks good, has a brown croc band and my custom orange second hand. I like it, but it is a fake gold color. Clearly not real.But I had a revelation today.....why not wear my good watches at work??? I mean, if you just wear your 'club' watch only out at the 'club,' or your 'nice' watch only out when you are really dressed up, how often will you wear them?I started to think that I should wear my good watches at ALL times. Why not? If they are REALLY superior, they will stand up to the shock and abuse of daily life. And, if they can stand up to it, they will become my friends - closer to me and more appreciated by me.
