Seiko SNAE57 wrist watches news:
Hey guys ! ! ! !Time to show some love to the Walthams ! ! ! ! I finished up these three VERY NICE Walthams in the past week or so.I've been so busy finishing up the book I wrote about Elgin Trench Watches that I sort of neglected the Walthams for awhile. These pictures show a GREAT range of what Waltham was putting out during the Great War ! ! ! ! ! !All three have a case made by a different company & country.Dennison Watch Case Company: EnglandAmerican Watch Case Company: Canadian Division, TorontoIllinois Watch Case Company: United States1915 Waltham, 15 jewels, size 0s, 36mm Sterling Silver Dennison Semi-Hermetic case with coins edge bezel & case back, this is HUGE for a size 0s, black enamel military dial.1915 Waltham, 15 jewels, size 3/0s, Sterling Silver case made by the American Watch Case Company, SPRING BAR LUGS, lumed hands, white enamel military dial.1918 Waltham, 15 jewels, size 3/0s, Sterling Silver case made by the Illinois Watch Case Company, thin spade hands, wh
For as long as I've been watching Elgins on Ebay, there has always been someone selling 'military' Elgins in A-11 cases, with black and white 24hr dials (e.g 200697721767). These always look new. Checking up on them, I see a variety of movements, all 8/0 Elgins. It seemed unlikely that someone had stumbled upon a footlocker full of the things, so I figured they were Frankenized.Well, that was confirmed this week. The same seller who constantly sells the 'Military' watches is listing three lots each of a dozen 8/0 Elgin cases (e.g. 200697722888). They've been buying old watches, pulling the movements, putting them in the A11 cases with the military-looking dials, and now they figure to make a profit selling the cases as well.Tempted as I might be by the cases, I can't bring myself to encourage the activity. It's not illegal - unless labelling something 'military' when it's really just military style constitutes fraud (but what would that do to Swiss Army watches?). But I don't lik
i still dont know much about this watch if it is rare or not i know my great grandpa bought it in illinois and has original box and was just serviced and cleaned about 2 years ago keeps perfect time
Hi, guys, one of my first posts in this group. I'm buying my first AP soon, and I'm purchasing the 26320 ROC blue dial AP boutique exclusive. What do you all think about this watch as it's discontinued and more difficult to track down. https://.watchcollectinglifestyle...onos-out-there
Just picked up a PP 2013 Collection catalog and saw a photo of the new for 2013 reference 5980/1AR-001 Steel and Rose Gold Nautilus. I'm not a fan of that look on the Nautilus, maybe it looks better live. Anybody out there seen one? Is this the first modern times steel and gold men's watch from PP? Curious as to what you think about this model.
