Seiko SXGN77 wrist watches news:
I'm not sure if this is the appropriate forum for this.. but here goes...On Monday of last week my watch collection was stolen out of my home. It was a small one but it had some good stuff for sure. Three were family heirlooms...Anyway, here is the question, and I know it's a long shot. Is anybody know where I could purchase an Inlaid Enamel Square in Green Gold? Mine was from 1926. The second hand was on the 6. I have never ever seen one of these for sale so I thought I would check here. It doesn't have to be, and preferably wouldn't be, in great shape, just something that is still within restoration range. Thanks again for any help anyone can offer. Looks like I'll be scouting pawn shops here in the Chicago area for some time to come.RegardsMark
I bought a Hamilton Barrel Engraved in 14K white gold filled on e-bay several months ago. I recently had it restored including a re-dial, movement overhaul and case polish. When I got it back and examined the case, it looked like a rare 2-tone Barrel Engraved with white gold fill on the bezel and case back and green gold fill on the case. Seems like it has the "Motif" style engraving, according to Will Roseman's site. But after taking several photos to post here and looking at them closely, it seems that the "green gold" might just be tarnish. Your thoughts?Mark
NAUTILUS CHRONOGRAPH 5980/1A Nicosia, Cyprus - JamesListPateks aren't usually packaged that way, are they?
...Kind of embarrassing question, but after looking at the results people on this forum get when re-doing their watches.....I realized that i definitly need a couple of pointers so that I can get the best possible shine and clean look to my watch cases.........Right now I use Simichrome and soft clothes, and keep them up with a treated poilishing cloth.....and I have to admit to using a VERY soft used toothbrush to get in crevases......I have 2 or 3 Dremels, but have never used them on any of my watches, too afraid of what I might do to a gold-filled case....but am I missing out on a good tool there?.......so how do I get that miraculous clean shine that I see here ????any special tool or cleaner I need ?oh and I can usually take a movement out easily enough, but having tried to glue crystals in, let us say that .....uhm not good at it at all....
