Just bought a pre-owned datejust last week, and look what I found on the dial - 2 tiny aliens!! Seller told me watch has never been opened except maybe for authentication, and this is a D-series (2005 or 2006) so how could these have found their way inside the dial? My dilemna, Rolex service center is charging me more than usd200 to clean up the watch (they call it overhaul) which I am not sure right now I am willing to shell outoption 2 is to have it serviced at the shop I bought it from, is it safe? option 3 leave it as is...but it is just so painful to look at :(what do you think gentlemen? and ladies? :) TIA

Thanks in advance but i need some help on setting the time, Calendar and 2nd time zone in my Explorer II watch.My AD misplaced the box & I was in a hurry to leave the store so i have to pick it up over the weekend.Nonetheless can someone give me a quick guide as to how to do the above ? What would be the sequence ? date first ? minute hand ? hour hand or 2nd time zone ?I also noticed that when doing the date, the hour hand has to move by the hour & its only when the date changes ?Is doing the dates in reverse hand also alright w/ this watch ?Normally when changing dates, what is the best time to change it to avoid calendar jam ? I had this experience on my other Rolex date watch and that cost a fortune to fix.Thanks for the inputs.Capri
I've rekindled my love for the brand and am thinking as part of my consolidation efforts of going for a really high end AP. I really want a cool all precious metal Rolex. I have owned a 36mm Day Date in YG 20 years ago and sold it (mistake!). I tried on both the 228238 and the 116618 LN at my AD yesterday. Loved them both, but the Sub is definitely more sporty. This would not be a daily wearer. I would wear it for special occasions, out to dinner, maybe on vacation, etc. Thoughts? I'm a 49 year old professional BTW.
