- I bought this for my boyfriend and he loved it. The band was a little , but I just took it to my local jeweler, and they removed a couple of links. Now it fits great. There wasn't a scratch on it.

Hi Everyone, IĄŻm awfully out of my element, so please forgive me if this is not the correct forum for asking this kind of question. In short, IĄŻd like to buy a Longines watch for my wife. We work together out of a home office, so there is no chance of slipping out to a retail store; it has to be the Internet (and it has to be within the next couple weeks). However, the only retailer with an online presence I saw on LonginesĄŻ site is MacyĄŻs, and their selection is absurd (just two). I see a slew of watches on E-bay, but after reading about missing serial numbers, fakes, and the utter lack of warranty, IĄŻm a bit skittish of going that route. Are there any authorized Longines dealers with an online presence? Are there any online sites worth visiting, or should I put this off? Any advice for purchasing? (Oh, if it makes a difference, we just had our first child so budget is limited to around a grand or so +/- a few hundred.) Thanks, Rhythm
My boss went to Vegas for an industry show this past week. The day before he left we were going over what needed to be done while he was away. He had been talking about buying a Breitling, so I wore my Chrono Cockpit that day. Of course he noticed it, and I offered to swap him for the week - my CC for his Movado. He thought about it and declined saying he didn't want to risk damaging it. Well, he called and said he bought a Super Ocean while he was out there. I should see him at hq next Wednesday so I'm taking my camera to work.My enabler status is confirmed!
I had picked up Gene Stones book titled The Watch yesterday at a Flee Market for $10.00 dollars, Normally a $ 40.00 dollar value. So far it's an excellent read the person who wrote the book is a watch collector himself. It covers a lot of brands everything from Alange to Zenith and unlike most book's this one is not on of those big heavy ones.
