It's dead around here...
So I'm going to post some watch photos to get things going. A little while back, I got the itch to burn some black and white film, so went through and photographed a roll's worth of watches from my collection. For those interested in the boring details...the film is TMAX 100 that expired about four years ago, shot with a Canon F-1N and 100mm f/4 macro, and developed in Ilford Ifosol S developer.

Scratches, Dents and Sports watches
A few good points were brought up during the discussion on scratches and dents in our watches. I have been pondering this very subject recently. I have two relatively expensive aviation style watches that I wear into the cockpit and I can't help but occasionally bang my watch against something while flying, moving around the airport, etc. While it would be a stretch to call my job labor intensive, my hands are active so "stuff" happens, and I accept this as part of my wearing these fine timepieces to work. Over time, I believe the watches have developed a bit of personality, or patina, related to all the travels I have put them through. I accept this wear and tear as part of the watches performing under the conditions of which they were designed. Af far as day to day use, do most of our members accept and even expect some scratches and maybe dents or is this unacceptable? Or, probably a more appropriate question would be, what is the level of wear acceptable and when does it cro

It has arrived!!!
The FedEx guy dropped off my new edition today! I was so excited I forgot about my lodge meeting tonight and a few other chores that had been planned!I tore open the box and got that sucker on my wrist asap!!! A little big out of the box, so I decided to take it to a local AD and have them adjust the band one full link removed and I was good to go!Oh, and a couple of you guessed it right away like it was tough! I will definitely be call her for my next one I did see a Orange PO at the local that adjusted my bracelet and tried it on uh-oh I am totally stoked, and I guess here started the slippery slope, eh?

The Tissot PowerMatic 80 Movement: 80 Hour Power Reserve--Your thoughts/oberservation
MWas looking at watches and came across the Tissot PowerMatic 80 movement, which as its name implies, has a power reserve of 80 hoursfixed. Right now, I think, though I could be wrong, it is exclusive to Tissot, but I'd guess will be farmed out through the Swatch family, if it already hasn't.Anyway, the movement is officially called the ETA C07.111.
