Funny how the watch world has the power to bring people together. Things that would never normally happen, occur because of horology. Take for instance famous American basketball player LeBron James traveling to the small Swiss town of Le Brassus. Never mind that he donned a watchmaker's white coat (if they had one long enough for him). I don't even think basketball is shown on television in Switzerland, and yet there he is in the idyllic Swiss mountains with Audemars Piguet.It isn't news that LeBron James has been an Audemars Piguet brand ambassador, but just last week Audemars Piguet decided to unveil the official LeBron James limited edition Royal Oak Offshore watch (which I debuted on Forbes right here). New acquisition: Vintage Glycine GMT chrono, WITH PHOTOS this time
Good day to all Glycine enthusiasts. Thank you to John who took me by the hand and showed me how to post pictures here. I have just bought a 70's (that's my guess) era chrono that looks a great deal like the Heuer GMT chronos (of the same era) with the Valjoux 72 movement. A similar chrono was also made by Belair and Duval, and, in fact, the one that I bought looks exactly like the Belair, i.e. same hands with rounded tips and black and red GMT hand. Before I bought the watch I made 2 elaborated searches to find references to this watch but I could not find any. I'm sure there must be a Glycine fan here who can help me with just a confirmation that, yes, there was such a watch. I am not 100% sure about the movement but the era plus the style and similarity to other chronos from the era strongly suggests that it is powered by a 72. My good friend Shane, one of my favourite people in the wonderful world of WIS, rushed one of his beautiful Black Widow straps to me in 20mm and I just fitted it to the MM. This strap is about 4mm thick but very light and flexible. With the short lugs of the MM it works really well as the strap is pressed against the case and because of the flex in the strap it partially curves into the case so there is almost zero daylight anywhere along the case. Here's a few quick shots to give you an idea:

The new RO 15202
As far as I know, the now old RO 15202 was pretty much the steel Nautilus 5711 of AP. In other words, it was a model that had a limited production, definitely lower than market needs. It was more expensive than the readily available 15300ST, and it was virtually impossible to find in most ADs and even AP Boutiques (please correct me if I talk rubbish). And unless I'm wrong, it was possible to special order a 15202 with a custom-made gold rotor, for of course a few thousands USD extra.Is that still the case with the new 15202? If one has to order and wait months for a 15202 anyway, and it costs considerably more than its readily available counterpart (15400ST now), then if one has the funds then why not order it with a special, unique rotor? Or does it only work if you order at least 10 similar pieces in a batch? Did anyone order a 15202 (old or new model) with a custom made rotor?It would be great if you could share your experiences in getting a 15202 brand new, from an AD or Bout

Omega Appeal
What's the Omega appeal for you? I, for one, love it's association with NASA. Generally it's designs are conservative as well. I also love its history, specifically it's golden years.
