IWC 5001-07 wrist watches news:
I just picked up a 1958 Chapman that's in need of serious TLC. It's missing the crystal as well as the minute hand and the dial has a serious case of dial rash from being unprotected. But I got the 770 movement working fine so once I get the dial refinished all I'll need is a set of hands to go on it.Does anyone know of a good source? I'm not sure what hole size they require either. I'm 99% sure the 14/0 and 12/0 watches (980/982 & 752,753, 754 and 770) all share the same hand sizes. I don't think any of our sponsors trade in such things so I thought it ok to ask. Any suggestions?
I'm afraid that I'm addicted to Sinn U1's. It all started with the taste of a Sinn U1 SDR, then a U1 and now a U1 W limited edition. When all of this started all I really wanted was a regular U1. The U1, in any variation, is a winner! Cheers, Bill P.
Finally was able to collect an Aquanaut 5167A-001 today (attached).A proud owner of a Calatrava 5120G I long since concluded that that particular watch is for formal occasions and the Aquanaut would be the perfect, every day watch. For anyone still seeking one, my dealer told me the price goes up on 1 March so I believe I was fortunate to get one with days to spare!
For the last 5 or so years I have longed after a Panerai. It was a struggle to figure out which one I wanted, you have to admit it is a big confusing if you don't know much about the brand.I joined this forum after I purchased my first real watch, a Rolex Sub 16610. My father had worn a Sub since the day I was born...so, I had to have my own. I still have his, it was left to me after his passing. I believe it is a 5510...not sure.Anyway, the time finally came for me to get my first Pam and I decided on a Base 000. The simplicity of the timepiece is what attracted me. Since the first day I planned to purchase one, I knew, because of this forum and the posts that I would be purchasing it from DavidSW...It is scheduled to arrive tomorrow, trust there will be some photos. Many!
I am in a bit of a quandary - I have been contacted by my local AD informing me that they have a Sky-Dweller for me to view/purchase.The issue is that it has the white dial and I¡¯m unsure about it as I prefer the black or blue.I¡¯d be interested on members thoughts on this dial as I believe it looks better in the flesh?Could anyone tell whether the dial could be changed at a later date? - I don¡¯t want to give up a chance of buying this scarce piece.
